POSITION: Educational Foundations/Kiddie Kampus Teacher
LOCATION: Canton High School
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Educational Foundations teacher will operate under the general direction of the building Principal in conjunction with the Career and Technical Education Director. This position functions to encourage academically talented, high achieving, high school students considering teaching as a career. As a part of the State’s Career Technical Education (CTE) programming, this employee works to support each student entrusted to his/her care by providing instruction according to their individual educational needs, abilities and achievements. Teachers help champion the District-wide vision for a commitment to high expectations and for the success of all students by building a culture of lifelong learners and reflective practitioners. In addition, this position is responsible for developing supporting instructional materials and student supports that include collaborating with other district leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Must possess a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Certificate with an Education General (13.0000) or Teacher Cadet (13.000) endorsement or 4000 hours experience with in the last 10 years in education and be willing to apply for Annual Authorization.
2. If position requires teaching course other than state-approved CTE courses, possession of qualification for a State of Michigan Standard or Professional teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements.

- Knowledge of preschool programs
- Ability to lead a team of preschool teachers
- Form and maintain relationships with students’ families. Participate in ongoing professional development in the spirit of continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and responsiveness while working with teachers and students
- Ability and desire to form partnerships with community and industry members to plan and hold program advisory meetings twice a year
- Ability and desire to assist students in Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) and/or relevant student leadership activities
- Ability and desire to assist students in work-based learning opportunities (field trips, internships, externships, job shadowing, etc.)
- Knowledge of and ability to complete required CIP Self-Review documentation
- Ability to effectively work with community members, CTE staff, and students with special needs
- Ability and desire to build and grow program enrollment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person while performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. such as boxes of books. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus.
