    POSITION:      ACCESS CONTROL TECHNICIAN/ELECTROMECHANICAL SPECIALIST
     
    QUALIFICATIONS :
    ·      High school/vocational school education or equivalent.
    ·      Valid New Jersey locksmith and burglar alarm license preferred.
    ·      Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification recommended.
    ·      Must be skilled in handling complex and diverse repairs and installations of both mechanical and electronic locking devices.
    ·      Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
    ·      Must be a quick learner, focused and detail oriented.
    ·      Demonstrated reliability and dependability.
    ·      Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships.
    Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may deem appropriate
     
    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Install card readers, sensors, door hardware, and control boards for electronic access control systems.
    • Pin and repair locks; repair and/or replace doors.
    • Wire electrified door hardware into associated controllers/panels.
    • Maintain the district’s electronic key boxes.
    • Maintain the district’s door closers and low power automatic door operators.
    • Perform preventative maintenance on physical security related equipment and hardware.
    • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic access control equipment and hardware.
    • Perform maintenance, and repairs of automatic or electrically operated door opening devices and hardware.
    • Operate the district’s key management software, including, but not limited to maintaining inventory of buildings, doors, keys, and associated hardware, maintaining the master key system, and tracking key duplicates, key issuances, and returns.
    • Practice and implement baseline skills in manual and electronic locking and security devices.
    • Perform locksmithing services to ensure campus facilities are properly secured.
    • Adjust doors, and any related hardware, such that doors are closing and latching in a proper manner.
    • Cut new or duplicate keys from existing keys, patterns, or codes.
    • Maintain current knowledge and skills of industry best practices.
    • Maintain inventory of equipment, materials and supplies.
     
    • Prepare estimates for physical security related projects.
    • Coordinate with contractors on physical security related projects.
    • Assist with the administration of the district access control system, including, but not limited to creating, maintaining, and decommissioning access credentials and configuring electrified doors within the system.
    • Develop and maintain technical documentation for all areas of oversight.
    • Perform other duties within the scope of their employment as may be assigned by supervisor or other administrator.
     
    SALARY:                     12-month position, To be determined by the Board
