Salary: $200/day
Date Available: Mid-Late May - November
The following are preferred:
- An Early Childhood Special Education (ZS) endorsement
- An endorsement in Special Education valid in grades Pre-K through 12, along with a (ZA) endorsement
- A Bachelor’s degree with a major in a specific Special Education area or have earned credit in coursework equivalent to that required for a major
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications that the administration may find appropriate and acceptable
Position Requirements:
- Ability to effectively engage young children and their parents and to model and teach strategies/interventions to parents
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary model
- Ability to maintain detailed documentation
- Ability to structure and organize time so as to meet required deadlines
- Proficiency in Google Suite applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.) and online sourcing tools with functional knowledge of internet use for search platforms
- Ability to withstand the strain of teaching
- Must be reliable and punctual with excellent work-related attendance record
- Such alternatives to the above requirements that the administration may find appropriate and acceptable
- Knowledge of child development/milestones and effective parenting techniques
- Knowledge of local, state and federal special education laws/guidelines
- Knowledge of various early childhood assessment tools and ability to administer them and interpret results
Position Responsibilities:
1. Plan, prepare and implement instruction to young children with disabilities
2. Collect student data and make instructional decisions based on the data
3. Work collaboratively with ancillary staff regarding caseload students
4. Schedule and facilitate IEPT meetings
5. Along with the rest of the Early Childhood team, plan and run regular parent meetings and family events
6. Work with Early Childhood team to facilitate the transition of students when they are leaving the program
7. Provide ongoing coaching and consultation to all staff to build the capacity to serve students with disabilities in their Least Restrictive Environment
8. Administer all required evaluations for students receiving services, e.g. entry and exit evaluations; record and submit all data within the mandated timelines
9. Maintain regular and punctual attendance
10. Provide Early Intervention Services, as needed
11. Consult with and provide services to tuition based preschool students, as needed
12. Schedule and facilitate Child Study and Problem Solving Team meetings
