Position: Secretary-Lamphere High School (EDUStaff) 
Work Schedule: Full Time, 11 Months, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Compensation: Based on like experience  
 
Lamphere Schools is contracting the services of EDUStaff for secretarial staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma
• 1 - 3 years of school-related work experience preferred
• Proficiency in MiSTAR, Frontline, Google applications, and Axis Camera System software
• Customer service oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform routine office skills, including filing and operating office equipment (copier, scanner, fax machine, etc.)
• Ability to coordinate and process data in a timely and accurate manner
• Self-directed with the ability to perform job tasks with minimal supervision
• Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines accurately and precisely
• Strong interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with staff members
• Ability to recognize problem areas and seek solutions to increase efficiency
• Demonstrate confidentiality for student privacy reasons
• Able to withstand the strain of the position
• Reliable and punctual with excellent work-related attendance record

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Effective collaboration with staff, including the building administration
• Preparation of building correspondence and reports
• Greet and assist school visitors
• Provide assistance to and answer questions from staff, students, and parents
• Answer phones and address the needs of those calling
• Check-in all guest teachers and coordinate necessary sub coverage for all classes (including communicating coverage to all staff)
• Coordinate purchasing of supplies
• Coordinate service for office equipment
• Submit building use requests and IT requests
• Sort U.S. mail and interschool mail
• Carry out bank deposits and process invoices/payables/reimbursements
• Update all staff lists, phone lists, schedules, etc.
• Calendar responsibilities
• Submit timesheets for staff
• Maintain student activity accounts
• Operate and maintain office equipment
• Coordinate and assist at Parent/Teacher Conferences, Open House, building Board Meetings, and other large school-based events
• Coordinate school events (picture day, special breakfasts, staff appreciation, etc.)
• Assist in preparation of materials for the opening and closing of the school year
• Assist with first aid and dispensing of medication, as needed
• Assist students with health concerns, when necessary
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Perform other office duties as requested by the building administration

Minimum Qualifications:     
• High School graduate, or equivalent   or    Advanced training in a community college or degree-granting institution whose special education instructional aide training program has been approved by the department 
• Experience working with students with emotional impairments, autism spectrum disorder, cognitive impairments, and/or physical disabilities, or equivalent experience
• Willingness and ability to conduct necessary physical management and physical care procedures with the students, including activities of daily living, monitoring of medical conditions, and implementing medical procedures for which  training has been provided 
•  Willingness to be trained in CPR, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention techniques, and necessary medical procedures. 
•  Good health, stamina for assigned duties, and positive attitude toward students  
•  Willingness and ability to work with students with aggressive and/or anti-social behaviors, e.g., threatening, hitting, kicking, biting, spitting, etc. 
•  Complete and pass a fitness for duty physical   
• Ability to withstand the stress of the position 
•  Willingness and ability to manage students in both school and community based instruction 
•  Basic computer literacy and operational knowledge of instructional support equipment (video, laminator, copying, projectors, etc)

Responsibilities:   
• Assist in preparation, implementation and record-keeping of instructional activities under the direction of teachers and ancillary staff
• Under the direction of the teacher, conduct assigned training activities with small groups of students at various sites, including locations other than the classroom, such as the library, cafeteria, hallways, bathrooms, community-based instruction settings  
• Provide instructional assistance under the direction of classroom teacher and ancillary staff  
• Supervise and monitor the physical condition of students with such conditions as diabetes and seizure disorders and implement medical procedures as assigned by supervisor  
• Properly implement behavior management plans, including crisis intervention procedures.  This is likely to include physical management of students.   
• Conduct physical care procedures with students - including but not limited to feeding, showering, and toileting and transferring to/from wheelchairs   
• Assist in extensive data collection related to behavioral analysis, physical function and instructional progress as directed by professional staff 
• Participate in professional development, student staffings, program committees and other meetings as directed by supervisor  
• Care for instructional materials when appropriate   
• Enter data and prepare reports on computer as designated by teachers and ancillary staff
• This position is classified as Nonexempt 
• Employment is contingent upon disclosure in accordance with PA-189.
• Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality, with a strong record of consistent attendance. Regular and dependable presence during school hours is essential.
• All staff members are expected to maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward one another at all times.
