Summary:
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for Birth–3 provides early intervention services to infants and toddlers with communication delays or disorders through home-based visits. This role focuses on empowering families by coaching caregivers to support their child's communication development during daily routines. Services are provided in natural environments such as the child’s home or childcare setting, in accordance with Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) and in compliance with federal and state early intervention regulations. The SLP works collaboratively with families and an interdisciplinary team to promote positive, functional outcomes for each child.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct home visits to provide speech-language services and supports within natural routines and settings
Evaluate and assess infants and toddlers for communication and feeding concerns as part of a multidisciplinary team
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) in partnership with families and team members
Provide coaching and strategies to families and caregivers to support communication development throughout daily routines
Maintain documentation in accordance with early intervention regulations and timelines
Collaborate with service coordinators, educators, and related service providers to deliver coordinated, family-centered services
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Current Michigan licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
Experience working with infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities, preferably in home-based or early intervention settings
Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a collaborative, family-centered approach to service delivery
Salary
Appropriate placement on the current Teacher's Master Agreement.
