SUMMARY: Provides secretarial support to the principal.
 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
1. Maintain strict confidentiality in dealing with all records and school business.
2. Regular, reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of the job.
3. Makes and receives department phone inquiries, takes messages, routes calls.
4. Operates and maintains standard office equipment.
5. Opens and distributes department mail.
6. Building liaison to staff, students and public including production of monthly newsletter,electronic sign content, school website updates and electronic mail blasts as needed.
7. Assist with visitors by utilizing the Visitor Notification System in accordance with the Board of Education policy.
8. Prepares, types, copies, distributes, files records/reports, correspondence, mailings etc. related to department function.
9. Maintains and updates the departmental filing system.
10. Assist with collecting and disbursing monies received through the building including petty cash, armored car deposits and PCard activities.
11. Maintain and update student daily attendance files
12. Assist and orientates substitute teachers and building substitutes.
13. Assist in building events including but not limited to picture day, vision and hearing screening, parent-teacher conferences, kindergarten roundup.
14. Maintain supplies and student records for the health room.
15. Update, compile and collect end of year checklist for building staff
16. Create and maintain building calendar throughout the school year via the rental scheduler.
17. File weekly communicable disease report to Oakland County Health Department
18. Coordinate care for students with an immediate medical or behavioral need
19. Request student records for newly enrolled students.
20. Develop and maintain an updated job specific handbook.
21. Enters and maintains student information into student database including emergency contacts and scheduling
22. Collects and reconciles attendance/payroll for school staff

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one-year school secretary related experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before parents, staff and students.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILL and ABILITIES:
Ability to pass a typing test at 55 words per minute.  Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer including but not limited to district management, word processing and spreadsheet software.  Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.  Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. The Payroll Coordinator reports to the Director of Finance. This position is responsible for all payroll related tasks. The Payroll Coordinator’s responsibilities will include loading annual contracts, collecting and processing hourly pay information, preparing and processing bi-weekly payroll, maintaining accurate payroll records and systems. POSITION SUMMARY:
The FIRST Robotics Team Leader is responsible for mentoring and supporting student teams in designing, building, and programming robots to compete in FIRST Robotics competitions. They guide students through the process, helping them learn essential technical, leadership, and collaboration skills. Team Leaders also play a role in organizing team activities, managing schedules, and ensuring students meet the requirements of the robotics challenge. 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with STEM programs, preferably including at least three years with a FIRST robotics program
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Ability to attend most full team meetings and competitions
• Knowledge of robotics, programming, and engineering principles is beneficial
• Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage the team and the program

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in special education or related field.

• Manage budgets and all federal and state grants related to Student Support Services. Also, responsible for Medicaid billing and services.
• Ensure fiscal responsibility across all staffing expenditures and related costs, while working systematically with HR to establish consistent district hiring practices that are done in a thoughtful, team based model.
• Support the district’s strategic plan, providing monthly updates at elementary/secondary administrative meetings.
• Lead the Threat Assessment process, including routine tracking of safety plans, providing advice and guidance to principals and Student Support Services department and monitoring where students are within the Threat Assessment continuum.
• Frequently review, analyze and provide leadership based upon state and local assessment data trends, annually providing a review to the TLT department and the Superintendent to ensure student achievement is a paramount focus and vision for HVS.
• Manage annual audit reports and ensure compliance with Catamaran systems.
• Collaborate with district leadership to support PLC (Professional Learning Communities) and cohort planning.
• Oversee and manage any State or Office of Civil Rights Complaints related to Student Support Services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 
• Plan, implement and direct a pupil transportation system within the policies of the Board of Education that has student safety as its primary focus.
• Coordinate, implement and maintain bus routes and schedules; evaluate bus stop locations, and road and weather conditions, and adjust bus routes accordingly; organize transportation services for trips, special events and athletic contests.
• Interpret transportation procedures and regulations to public and staff, establish and maintain good public relations program.
• Coordinate student transportation activities with school officials, department heads, and other appropriate groups/individuals.
• Supervise the recruitment, selection, training, and evaluation of all transportation department personnel.
• Direct and supervise transportation employees, including:  drivers, paras, mechanics, and office staff.
• Ensure all district vehicles and transportation equipment are properly maintained for safe use and adequately prepared for state inspections.
• Develop, forecast and recommend transportation department budget requirements.
• Maintain personnel records and records for preparation of state and local reports, such as inventories, pupils transported, route mileage, time and trip records, traffic accidents and other reports; complete required annual reports such as SE-4107 (School Bus Inventory) and SE-4094 (Transportation Expenditure Report).
• Serve as a member of negotiating team for transportation contracts.  Participate in grievance hearings and any other bargaining unit issues as needed.
• Review, investigate and respond to parental and guardian requests regarding bus stops, routing, student behavior management and driver concerns.
• Evaluate all elements of transportation program on a continuing basis and make recommendations for improvement; assist in the formation and development of policies, procedures and programs to assure an economical, safe and efficient department.

• Keeps the management well informed of pool maintenance needs including cleaning, chemical adjustments, and repairs.

• Ensures the cleanliness in and around the pool area.

• Inventories and recognizes when supplies or equipment need to be replenished and communicates the needs to the Supervisor.

• Ensures all aquatic equipment is well maintained and replaced as necessary.

• Provides assistance with group water fitness classes.

• Assists with scheduling aquatic activities with the Facility Scheduler, Supervisor and Director of Rec & Ed.

• Provides technical assistance and in-service training to Head Start staff including mandatory annual food safety & sanitation and other nutrition-related topics, as needed.
• Monitors compliance with local and state health, food safety and sanitation standards; checks usage of daily refrigerator logs, safe food handling and dishwashing procedures.
• Communicates with Waterford School District Food Service director to share concerns and exchange ideas pertaining to Head Start breakfast and lunch menus.
• Cooperates, communicates and refers families to other Community Nutrition programs or resources such as WIC, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP-formerly known as food stamps), Focus Hope program, MSU Cooperative Extension’s EFNEP and Gleaners Community Food Bank and other emergency food sources.
• Attends the annual Dietitians Meeting conducted by the Grantee.
• Submits a monthly Head Start Nutrition Summary report to the Grantee Nutrition Services Coordinator by the 25^th of each month.
• Develops a Head Start Snack Menu monthly to coordinate with Waterford School District’s breakfast and lunch menus.
• Makes modifications and accommodations to menus as needed (e.g. medically diagnosed food allergies, intolerances and cultural practices).  Communicates requirements with building chef, classroom teachers and parents.
• Conducts monthly menu analysis and submits results to the Grantee Nutrition Services Coordinator.
• Makes sure that WSD Plans-Of-Care paperwork is in place for all medically diagnosed food allergies.
• Coordinates schedule with the weekly delivery of the WSD food service food delivery.
• Arrange for special snacks that need to be prepared by the Nutritionist.
