1. Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
2. New Jersey Department of Education Supervisor Certificate, OR New Jersey Department of Education Standard Principal Certificate.
3. New Jersey Department of Education Certificate in Supervisor (0106) OR 0200 Principal Standard (0200). 
4. Minimum of three (3) years successful experience in teaching the related content area or related experience.
BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Facilitates the growth and development of teachers working collaboratively with peers.
2. Assists teachers in alignment, articulation, integration, and implementation of curriculum through and across grade levels.
3. Teaches demonstration lessons in classrooms and serves as a peer coach and mentor for staff in reciprocal relationships.
4. Provides teachers the opportunity to develop effective instructional techniques, strategies and professional behaviors.
5. Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards for curriculum, assessment and instruction.
6. Assumes responsibility to attend and participate in ongoing professional development activities.
7. Provides teachers with the opportunity to enhance knowledge of content and management skills.
8. Analyzes and communicates student assessment data, and makes program recommendations based on the analysis of available data.
9. Provides reports on the progress of program initiatives.
10. Performs other duties consistent with specific contractual terms of employment as assigned by the Principal.
11. Monitors implementation of the school district’s approved content program in accordance with the needs of students.
12. Assumes responsibility to attend and participate in in-service workshops.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS 
1. Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
2. New Jersey Standard Supervisor’s Certificate.
3. New Jersey Standard Career Technical Education (CTE) Teaching Certificate.
4. Three (3) years successful teaching experience in Vocational Ed.
5. Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods.
6. Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. *As defined in N.J.A.C. 6A:9-9 Instructional certificates
 
 
 
BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 I. Management and Coaching of Instructional Staff 
1. Observes, coaches, and evaluates assigned faculty and provides ongoing professional development for targeted improvement in identified growth areas.
2. Completes all Teach NJ Educator Effectiveness activities (IPDP/CAP, observations, and evaluations) according to district’s guidelines.
3. Assumes the orientation and mentor responsibilities of all novice teachers.
4. Monitors the implementation and/or the expansion of school-based CTE programs.
5. Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards for curriculum, assessment and instruction.
6. Ensures that all CTE teachers are properly certified. 
7. Ensures that all students have opportunities to obtain industry certifications associate with School-based CTE programs. 
 
 
II. Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment 
1. Serves as the leader and expert in the area of Career Technical Education.
2. Supports School level implementation of CTE curriculum guides. 
3. Ensures assigned faculty is properly equipped with district approved curriculum resources.
4. Reviews and approves lesson plans, assessments, and grades, and certifies alignment to the State’s Standards with articulation, integration, and implementation of district approved curriculum through and across grade levels and content areas.
5. Conducts model lessons that demonstrate best practices and differentiated techniques for exemplary implementation of various learning objectives.
6. Collaborates with Teaching and Learning in the research and implementation of best practices in curriculum, instruction, and student assessments.
7. Prepares, analyzes, and communicates quarterly student achievement data reports and makes program recommendations according to student needs.
8. Collaborates with the Principal and Vice Principal(s) in adhering to the secondary course sequence and scheduling guidelines for college and career readiness. 
9. Assumes teaching responsibilities in areas identified by the principal, when necessary. 
 
III. Student Life and Family Support 
1. Promotes and leads a positive school-wide climate and culture for students and staff that results in school and class pride while fostering student academic achievement. 
2. Engages families and community stakeholders to actively participate in the vision and mission of the school and district.
3. Advances gifted and at-promise students with supports to their academic and social and emotional needs by facilitating access to interventions and student activities that result in academic achievement and student leadership. 
4. Monitors implementation of Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Prevention/ Early Intervention (I&RS) action steps to ensure full compliance with State and Federal regulations. 
5. Recommends and monitors the implementation of positive behavior supports to ensure a positive school-wide climate and scholarly culture that result in school-wide academic achievement. 
 
III. Organizational Leadership 
1. Establishes and executes organizational systems and strategies to monitor student, faculty, school, and district goals. 
2. Develops and monitors strategies for high level collaboration among faculty and staff.
3. Communicates effectively and maintains a positive disposition in all circumstances to ensure an outcome that promotes student academic achievement, faculty and staff professional development, and school-wide success. 
4. Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.
5. Leads/facilitates CTE professional development for instructional staff. 
 

REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL
  
SALARY, EMPLOYMENT PERIOD, AND UNION AFFILIATION
 
1. Salary: Compensation is competitive and based on experience.  The salary range for this position is $92,000 - $128,000.

BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Facilitates the growth and development of teachers working collaboratively with peers.
2. Assists teachers in alignment, articulation, integration, and implementation of curriculum through and across grade levels.
3. Teaches demonstration lessons in classrooms and serves as a peer coach and mentor for staff in reciprocal relationships.
4. Provides teachers the opportunity to develop effective instructional techniques, strategies and professional behaviors.
5. Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards for curriculum, assessment and instruction.
6. Assumes responsibility to attend and participate in ongoing professional development activities.
7. Provides teachers with the opportunity to enhance knowledge of content and management skills.
8. Analyzes and communicates student assessment data, and makes program recommendations based on the analysis of available data.
9. Provides reports on the progress of program initiatives.

11. Monitors implementation of the school district’s approved content program in accordance with the needs of students.
12. Assumes responsibility to attend and participate in in-service workshops.

Qualifications
 
1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
2. New Jersey Department of Education Permanent Teacher’s Certificate.  
3. Minimum of three (3) years successful teaching experience. 
4. Awareness of relationships that must exist between home and school in order to administer a successful project.
5. A working knowledge of federal and state regulations, specifically those identified in the No Child Left Behind Act. 
6. Knowledge of New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards.
7. Letters of recommendation, which should include one (1) from current principal or supervisor. 
8. Possession of a driver’s license, valid in New Jersey, only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

Responsibilities
 
1. Works directly with students to reach mastery.
2. Designs and implements academic interventions using research-based methodology in Reading and Math.
3. Demonstrates high levels of professional conduct and exemplary teaching of individuals and small group instruction that result in high levels of student learning.
4. Provides data-drive instruction for Math/LAL for all K-8 students during the school day.  (This could be done through small group instruction, both in and out of the classroom with flexible grouping.)
5. Analyze student achievement data to determine target interventions and the development of materials.
6. Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices.
7. Develops and/or coordinates the development of exemplary unit plan materials including high quality sequences for each unit, teaching tools for each standard, and additional teaching materials for teacher use and student practice.

8. Interpret for individual or small groups of students and staff members with auditory disabilities in the classroom, field trips or at assembly programs
9. Assist the teacher of the deaf and supervisor of the auditory impairments program in exploring and identifying the communication needs of students with hearing loss 
10. Provide assistance to the instructional leader in the appropriate use and care of classroom amplification systems which allow auditory access to those students capable of using residual hearing
11. Report the malfunction/inappropriate use of such equipment to the appropriate professionals for repair/reinstruction pertaining to said equipment

BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Evaluates identified students using standardized assessments and student observations in order to determine appropriate program placement and academic supports.
2. Actively participates in CST meetings to determine the need for eligibility, programs and the development of an Individualized Educational Program (IEP).

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

DEFINITION: To select, order and organize print and non-print materials for the library media center that will reinforce the curriculum: to instruct students in the use of the library as a source of knowledge, enjoyment and inspiration, and to work with teachers in the development of library media programs to satisfy their classroom needs. 
 
 
BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Develops a comprehensive health record on each new student that registers for school including an appropriate health history.  The information contained therein includes identification data, pre-natal, neo-natal and early development history; disease experiences; social and family history of parents and siblings; immunization data in accordance with the requirements of the State of New Jersey; and notes and advice or referrals discussed with the parent/guardian.
2.    Performs routine screenings of vision and hearing, weighing and measuring, and blood pressure and visual dental check.  When deviation from the norm is detected, the certified school nurse is responsible for referring the student and parent to the appropriate practitioner or agency for follow-up, and documenting such activities.
3.    Interprets the findings of the physical examination to parents, teacher and child (on his level) to motivate the student to take an interest and develop a responsibility for his own health.  Where physical defects are detected, assists the parent in contacting the available professional resources for diagnosis and treatment.
4.    Provides emergency medical care for all employees and arranges for care and follow-up at an appropriate emergency room or at the facility designated by the district.
5.    Counsels parents, teachers and students concerning medical and health related information.  Instructs teaches and other staff regarding ‘the signs and symptoms of diseases of individual students that would indicate that they need immediate health services.
6.    Conducts tuberculin screening programs on staff and students as mandated by the New Jersey State Department of Health and Education.
7.    Reviews every medical record annually to provide information to parents and administration concerning the immunization status of all school students as is required by law.
8.    Provide input into health education programs by being the health resource person in the school. The certified school nurse may actively participate in the health and in-service educational instruction for students and their parents.
9.    Informs and interprets for the child study team all medical and or other findings on the NPS children that will enable them to better understand the child in order that he may be properly placed and attain a level of achievement consistent with his abilities.
10.    Assists in planning and maintaining a safe and healthful school environment.
11.    Confers with representatives of community agencies in matters pertaining to family and community health.
12.    Dispenses medication prescribed by a physician in keeping with the current guidelines set forth by the Medical Director.  Provides nursing care as deemed necessary by the child’s health condition.
13.    Serves on various committees within the school as is deemed necessary.
14.    Administers prescribed treatments and ensures that prescribed measures are carried out.
15.    May be requested to fulfill any nursing function within the scope and practice of the New Jersey Nurse Practice Act.
16.    Performs related duties as assigned.
17.    Performs other duties consistent with specific contractual terms of employment as assigned by the Director or Chief Academic Officer or designee.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
 
 
1. New Jersey Standard Teaching Certificate
2. New Jersey Cooperative Education Coordinator License (required).
3. New Jersey Cooperative Education Coordinator License/Hazardous Occupations (preferred).
4. A minimum of two (2) years of successful teaching experience.
5. A valid New Jersey Driver's License foe worksite visitations
6. Excellent writing skills needed.
7. Letters of recommendation: which should include one (1) from current principal or supervisor.
8. Knowledge of School-to-Career programs, school-based learning, work-based learning and connecting activities.
9. Knowledge of current workforce and/or economic development in the Greater Newark area.
10. Ability to work with School-to-Career staff, school-based staff and external partners
11. Ability to maintain and use a computerized system designed to manage student and partner information.
12. Ability to establish, coordinate, and monitor work-based learning experiences.
13. Completes DOE approved training program for SLE Coordinator as specified in New Jersey Structured Learning Experience Manual. (Must meet all of the DOE administrative code on the personnel requirements related to Work-Based Learning program.)
 
 

 BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
 
1. Assist students in making successful School-to-Career transitions.
2. Develop work-based learning experiences for students that provide the knowledge, skills, abilities and opportunities necessary for successful transition into the workforce or post-secondary education programs.
3. Serve as an educational resource person to staff at your school by serving on the STC Administrative Team.
4. Oversee initiatives related to preparing students to meet standards and competencies.
5. Provide professional development to school-based staff on school-based learning, work-based learning and connecting activities.
6. Coordinate student related activities in school-based learning, work-based learning and connecting activities.
7. Identify students to be served and assist the STC Job Developers in identifying and working with community partners and evaluating the success of STC implementation and student outcomes.
8. Plan and assist in the retrieval, summarization, and analysis of all required reports.
9. Assume responsibility for the implementation of student/program evaluation instruments.
10. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
11. Guide staff, parents and community in the interpretation of the school district’s guidelines in compliance with Federal, State and District rules and regulations.
12. Participate in activities that promote professional growth.
13. Investigate placement opportunities and disseminate information regarding these opportunities.
14. Coordinating and planning trips and documentation 
15. ?Organizing Advisory Committee, meeting agendas and minutes 
16. Review and monitor student academic progress to ensure student success within CTE programs 
17. Collaborate on development of student schedules to ensure students are working towards completion status. 
18. Perform other job-related duties as required. 
19. Place and supervise all students in school sponsored work-base experiences (other than Cooperative Education Experiences and Apprenticeships) in non-hazardous occupations in any Career Cluster.
     
 
REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL

1. Salary Range:  $57,750-$106,800

BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
1. Consult with supervisors, resource teacher/coordinators and/or classroom teachers regarding students identified as at-risk through the administration of the chosen screening instrument.
2. Confer with and support master teachers and preschool classroom teachers in planning strategies, adapting teaching practices and making modifications that will assist the children in meeting the Teaching and Learning Expectations: Standards of Quality.
3. Conduct regular, periodic visits to classrooms, to observe and model appropriate strategies and interventions.
4. Observe, provide feedback, and make recommendations regarding application of strategies, classroom modifications, and the selection of adaptive materials and equipment for use in the classroom and other learning environments.
5. Plan and implement professional development for special education teachers, master teachers, assistants, and administrators to facilitate preschool inclusion.
6. Coordinate meetings in which professionals in all disciplines and families where appropriate, have the opportunity to consult, collaborate and plan as a team.
7. Assist teachers and master teachers with strategies for involving and educating families.
8. Gather data related to the performance of identified youngsters through interview of students, parents, school staff and contact with social service, mental health agencies and hospital centers and other individuals and agencies having knowledge of the student.
9. Generate written professional reports.
10. Participate in Child Study Team meetings as requested.
11. Serve as a resource to families, students and school/center staff to assist in the dissemination of information, referral for services and the development of program planning.
12. Monitor the progress of pupils with their jurisdiction.
13. Coordinate with and to foster positive relationships staff, school administrators, center directors, teachers, students, parents and family workers.
14. Maintain and report at required intervals accurate statistical data related to productivity and case responsibilities.
15. Perform additional or alternative duties, which are within the scope of employment, and certification.

4. Provides individual, small, and/or large group instruction, whenever appropriate, in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of pupils with varying intellectual and special abilities.
5. Instructs pupils in proper care and use of textbooks, equipment and materials.
6. Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to provide and orderly and productive environment.
7. Selects and requisitions books, instructional materials, equipment, aids, and maintains required inventory records.
8. Develops instructional plans and organizes class time to provide a balanced program of instruction
9. Develops and maintains professional competence through participation in in-service education activities provided by the district and in self-selected professional growth activities.
10. Supervises out-of classroom activities for pupils during the assigned working day, as required.
11. Plans and coordinates the work of aides, teacher assistants, and other paraprofessionals.
12. Identifies pupil’s needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
13. Communicates with parents and pupil personnel staff members on the individual pupil’s progress and development.
14. Maintains attendance accounting and business service as required.
15. Develops and participates in the sponsorship of student activities and faculty committees.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
 
1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
2. A New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) in Deaf of Hard of Hearing. 
3. Possession of a current and valid teaching certificate in the appropriate subject/content area issued by the New Jersey Department of Education.
4. Persons with mental or physical disabilities are eligible as long as they can perform the essential functions of the job after reasonable accommodation is made for their known limitations.  If the accommodation cannot be made because it would cause the employer undue hardship, such persons may not be eligible.
5. Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. 
 

BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
1. Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
2. Evaluates student progress on a regular basis and prepares progress reports.
3. Instructs pupils in citizenship, basic communications skills and other general elements of the course of study common to all teachers, as specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the district.
4. Provides individual, small, and/or large group instruction, whenever appropriate, in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of pupils with varying intellectual and special abilities.
5. Instructs pupils in proper care and use of textbooks, equipment and materials.
6. Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to provide and orderly and productive environment.
7. Selects and requisitions books, instructional materials, equipment, aids, and maintains required inventory records.
8. Develops instructional plans and organizes class time to provide a balanced program of instruction
9. Develops and maintains professional competence through participation in in-service education activities provided by the district and in self-selected professional growth activities.
10. Supervises out-of classroom activities for pupils during the assigned working day, as required.
11. Plans and coordinates the work of aides, teacher assistants, and other paraprofessionals.
12. Identifies pupil’s needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
13. Communicates with parents and pupil personnel staff members on the individual pupil’s progress and development.
14. Maintains attendance accounting and business service as required.
15. Develops and participates in the sponsorship of student activities and faculty committees.
16. Acts as a resource person on an interdepartmental level to relate appropriate aspects of his/her subject area to other subject areas
17. Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning the academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
18. Perform other duties and tasks assigned by Supervisor.
 
REPORTS TO:  PRINCIPAL
 
SALARY, TERMS & AFFILIATION
 
1. Salary: $65,000- $109,100
2. Employment Period: Ten (10) Months 
3. Union Affiliation: Newark Teacher’s Union (NTU)
 
*Salary subject to change pending NTU contract negotiations.
