Per Diem Teacher (Clinical) (Pending availability of funds and Board of Education approval)
Qualifications
- New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), Certificate of Eligibility with Advance Standing (CEAS) or Valid NJ DOE Substitute Teacher’s Certificate or
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and NJ DOE Substitute Teacher Credential
- District and State fingerprint credentialing required and clearance.
- Principal recommendation and evaluation by a school principal (if applicable).
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
- Authorized to work in the USA.
RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Per Diem Teachers will supervise/manage student’s grades (K-12).
2. Per Diem Teachers will adhere to daily and school schedules as noted.
3. Per Diem Teachers must be able to execute lessons as the curriculum dictates.
4. Create, plan and teach lesson, if none is provided.
5. Per Diem Teachers will maintain a broad knowledge of all facets related to the teaching/educating assignment as related to the subject and grade level of the students.
6. Return instructional materials, equipment, and keys to proper place. Leave classroom in a presentable manner.
7. Collect and place students’ completed assignments on classroom teacher’s desk and note pertinent information resulting from the day’s event.
8. Implement lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner that motivates students to learn and participate.
9. Ensures the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
10. Maintain and establish a safe classroom setting, promoting active learning and demonstrate good classroom management skills.
11. Reports all student’s injuries, accidents, illnesses, inappropriate behavior and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as is reasonable possible.
12. Dismisses all students from the classroom/ playground before leaving the building.
13. Additional responsibilities may be assigned to the Per Diem Teacher, as needed.
REPORTS TO: School Principal
SALARY, EMPLOYMENT PERIOD & UNION AFFILIATION Salary: (a) Substitute Credential Only - $150/day; or (b) Substitute Credential plus Bachelor’s Degree - $180/day
Employment Period: School Year Calendar – Ten Months
