  •   Northern Lights School Division No.113 is a provincial school system serving a predominantly Indigenous school population throughout an area encompassing the entire northern half of Saskatchewan. The schools are very diverse ranging from 10 to over 500 students per school, and catering to Cree, Dene, Métis, French, and English cultures and languages.

    NLSD provides a full range of pre-kindergarten to Grade Twelve programs to more than 4300 students in 21 schools. We have offices located in the beautiful communities of La Ronge and Beauval, both approximately 400 kilometers north of Saskatoon.
     
    Northern Lights School Division #113 is seeking a Northern Summer Literacy Camp Facilitator for a temporary term position. This role will support summer literacy camps across Northern Saskatchewan (location may be flexible).

    FTE:   Part-time flexible hours March to June
     
    - (Up to 100 hours total, with scheduling flexibility within standard work hours Monday-Friday (8 AM - 4 PM)
     
    Full-time (June 15 - September 15, 2025)
     
    - Monday - Friday
    - Travel is required including overnight trips throughour Norther Lights School Division No. 113
     
    Term of Employment: Temporary to September 15, 2025
    Salary and Benefits:  $29.95 - $35.04 per hour - According to education and experience.

    Qualifications:
    • Excellent communication, critical thinking, interpersonal and leadership skills
    • Project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Flexible scheduling (March–June) within standard work hours (8 AM–4 PM)
    • Full-time (June–September) with required travel, including overnight trips
    • Strong knowledge of Northern Saskatchewan’s people and communities
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
    • A valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and the ability to travel throughout Northern Saskatchewan

    The suitable candidates will be able to perform the following duties:
    • Coordinate summer literacy camps, including staffing, resource management, and program oversight
    • Lead training for camp counsellors and coordinators
    • Serve as the primary contact for all summer literacy camp operations
    • Engage with communities, ensuring the involvement of Elders and Knowledge Keepers
    • Develop and implement a camp evaluation strategy (in collaboration with the Ministry) to measure academic and behavioral impacts
    • Analyze and synthesize data to create reports and communications
    • Promote summer literacy camps through various platforms, including social media
    • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Education

    Preferred Qualifications & Experience
    • A degree or relevant education in Education, Social Work, Library Science, Business Administration, Community Development, or a related field
    • 2–3 years of experience in program management, family literacy, education, community development, or a similar role that involves leading teams, managing budgets, and reporting outcomes
    • Proven ability to coach, support, and work with a wide variety of people
    • Experience with financial oversight, including managing budgets and following established accounting procedures
    • Strong reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to generate high-quality reports and communicate key insights
