ATHLETIC OFFICIAL
REPORTS TO: Athletics Department
POSITION SUMMARY: Provide support in various capacities during athletic events based on the sport and season.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidates will be required to do one of the following as applicable to sport, season and/or location:
* Announcer: announce the plays of games
* Chain crew: manages signal poles on one of the sidelines during football games and signals the official’s decision
* Clock operator: responsible for keeping the time of game
* Facilitator/Meet supervision: monitor the games/Track & Field meet to ensure that everything is in order; responsible for reporting activities to the Athletics Director; sing-in officials and game workers and submit athletic payroll to Athletics department for their school or event in charge of
* Ticket seller: responsible for the cash box and selling of tickets for an athletic event
* Ticket Taker: responsible for taking/ripping of tickets form spectators before entering an athletic event
* Utility worker: responsible for crowd control, monitor doors and athletic areas, ensure locker room doors are locked/unlocked for team(s) and monitor areas, set up/prepare concession stands, loading and sounding of canon during football games, set up/breakdown of game locations
* Scorer: keep record of scores in book for the team assigned to or school
* Starter: responsible for the sound off/shot of the pistol and ensure all runners receive a fair and equal start for the track/field meets
* Video: responsible for video recording game footage for coaches
* Photographer: responsible for taking all athletic event photos for fall, winter and spring seasons
* Field event official: responsible for judging the various events for the track/field meet

* Must be available for scheduled athletic games

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-Time based on duration of sport and season. Rate is in accordance with approved part-time job category, sport, season, location and duties.
