Special Education Teacher
Location: New Horizon Center
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time (8:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m)
WORK YEAR: 2024-2025 School Year (Position open immediately)
New Horizon Center's goal has always been to provide children with disabilities the opportunity to reach their full potential. Their satisfaction can be observed on the expression of a child's face when they speak their first word or take their first step toward independence. This Non-public therapeutic day school serves students ages 3-22.
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. This role involves developing individualized education plans (IEPs), implementing effective teaching strategies, classroom management of paraprofessionals and collaborating with parents and other educators to support the academic , behavioral and social development of students with disabilities.
Qualifications: The qualified candidate will have a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with an LBSI endorsement. PreK through 21.
