POSITION:                 Nurse - Extended School Year (ESY) Program
 
Program will run Monday - Thursday from July 14, 2025 through July 31, 2025.  The hours will be 8:00 am until 12:00 pm.  Staff must be able to commit to working the full three weeks unless prior arrangements have been made with the Supervisor of Special Education.
 
SCHOOL:                    STRIDES, 4 Liberty Street, Danbury, CT

REPORTS TO:           Supervisor of Special Education
 
GENERAL DUTIES:    Provide nursing services on premisies to summer school student.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:     Registered Nurse CT License required                                              
 
SALARY:                   $200 per day

POSITION:  Job Coach
 
SCHOOL:   STRIDES Program/Community Based
 
GENERAL DUTIES: 
 
• Report to the Special Education Teacher and Special Education Department Head 

• Support and supervise students (18 to 22 years old) individually and/or in small groups in the classroom and community vocational worksites

• Under the direction of the Special Education Teacher, support student daily functional living skills as well as implement individual transition action plans in a variety of community-based settings 

• Continuously evaluate student skills and abilities at worksites and assist with appropriate learning strategies when necessary

• Consistently work to improve student independence

• Maintain progress notes and assess level of performance both in the community, worksite, and/or classroom

• Maintain strict confidentiality

• With teacher direction the job coach will provide one-on-one or small group opportunities to support the understanding of the students’ career aspirations, work history, education, skills, and personality traits and adjust as necessary.

• With teacher direction: 

   

  • Job coach will implement customized transition action plans that align with the students’ transition objectives in a variety of community-based settings.

  • will implement support on resume and cover letter creation, job search strategies, networking, and interview techniques.

  • will support program or community-based workshops or seminars focused on career development topics such as job hunting and community resources available.  
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
 
• College degree in education, psychology, human services, or related fields preferred.

• In lieu of degree, a minimum of three years of related experience working in special education, vocational or life skills programs or directly with individuals with intellectual or other disabilities is required.

• Valid CT driver’s license.

• Must be able to work harmoniously with others to encourage and enhance student performance and the team process
 
SALARY:                  $23.00/hour
