Position Details:

Primary Objective of Position:
Ensure a safe and fun environment for students, staff, and parents at Minnetonka Public Schools Tonka Dome.
 
Job Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the transition from one rental group to the next rental group.
2. Ensure that dome equipment (nets, goals, benches) is used respectfully and stored properly after use.
3. Ensure that L Screens/Catcher Screens/Tees stay in their respective batting cages – North or South.
4. Ensure that the South batting cage will be organized/cleared after use – End zone nets pulled to sideline/nets put to the side.
5. Keep West sideline clear of player equipment,spectators, nets, and goals to allow safe access to North and South batting cages.
6. Ensure that soccer and lacrosse goals are moved to East sideline when not in use – not pushed into the North or South end zones.
7. Monitor non-renters who try to use the dome.
8. Maintain a high level of professionalism.
9. Monitor and enforce the policies of the Tonkadome:
   1. No seed, food or beverages other than water
   2. No lawn chairs with pointed legs
   3. No tape on turf
   4. Ensure rental organizations pick up garbage left by their users when their rental period is complete
   5. Enforce other rules as posted

1. Evidence of successful experience in program leadership.
2. Evidence of successful experience in working with youth and adults.
3. Evidence of excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Knowledge of and experience with athletic equipment.
5. Ability to work under minimal supervision.
6. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
7. Evidence of ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with frequent interruptions.

3. Assist the Student Activities Office to maintain complete and accurate records as required (i.e. student physicals, parental consents, attendance forms, insurance records, activity/athletic code forms, etc.).
4. Assist the Student Activities Office to prepare a roster of all team members to include numbers, grade level and positions.
5. Responsible to verify through the MHS Activities Office that all participants are eligible.
6. Report and document with an injury report form for all student major injuries immediately to the trainer, and to the Director of Activities.  
7. Participate in coaches meeting, PLC’s, and pre and post season meetings with the Director of Activities.
8. Develop and implement a transformational purpose statement.
9. Develop and implement an emergency action plan as directed by the Minnesota State High School League.
 
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Knowledge and background in the assigned sport.
2. Understanding of and agreement with the Minnetonka Public School District's Student Activity and Athletic Code and the Coaches/Advisors Handbook.
3. Knowledge of State, Federal and Minnetonka Public School Board Policies regarding student conduct and appropriate disciplinary action.

Job Responsibilities
1. Support, modify, adjust and monitor individualized instruction in academic areas, functional skills,  and/or behavior programs for special education students on a 1:1 or small group basis within both regular and special education classroom settings.
2. Assist students with self-care tasks of feeding, dressing, and toileting.  Lifting will be necessary for repositioning and physical restraints as necessary.   Under the direction of an LSN, perform basic medical procedures to include, but not limited to, tube feedings and catheterization.
3. Operate special education equipment (i.e., wheelchairs, and augmentative communication devices, assistive technology) and supervise their safe and proper use.
4. Apply student management techniques and anticipate, prevent or stop self-destructive student behaviors.
5. Participate in IEP conferences, school conferences, meetings with staff and/or parents, etc. as requested.
6. Write concise observational data, maintain a log, record computerized data, maintain behavior charts, and monitor students' attendance on a daily basis.
7. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level. 
8. Will participate in training on third party reimbursement and implement third party reimbursement tasks as needed.

Job Qualifications:
1. Must meet highly qualified status, as defined by the MDE, beginning on day 1 of employment. Failure to meet highly qualified status may impact start date.
2. Evidence of successful completion of the Personal Care Assistant Training certification test through the Minnesota Department of Human Services.  The certification test is available online and must be completed as part of the pre-employment process.
3. Demonstrated experience supporting student instruction in the classroom preferred.
4. Evidence of knowledge and/or experience in using behavior modification strategies including restitution and resiliency. 
5. Demonstrated training, knowledge and application of CPI strategies, preferred.
6. Evidence of ability to be firm but kind, caring but consistent, patient and vigilant.
