    Job Description
     
     
    JOB TITLE:  Cafeteria Cook          
     
    REPORTS TO:  Cafeteria Manager
     
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High school diploma or G.E.D (experience in food service preferred)
    • Meet required health and physical requirements
    • Ability to follow instructions and receive constructive criticism
    • Be able to work cooperatively with others
    • An interest in working with children and faculty
    • Willingness to learn and improve skills
    • Be able to perform work required of job
    • Positive attitude
     
    JOB GOAL:  To prepare food and contribute to the smooth operation of the school nutrition program for the ultimate health, comfort, and benefit of the students. 
     
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    • May require lifting up to 50 lbs.
    • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling of objects up to 25 lbs.
    • Climbing, stooping, kneeling and/or crouching
    • Reaching
    • Long periods of standing on hard surfaces
    • Noise exposure
    • Environmental temperature variances
     
    MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Prepares foods according to production record by following standardized recipes.
    • Maintains proper food temperatures when producing and serving.
    • Serves students and staff from the cafeteria counter.
    • Maintains the trash and garage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.
    • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
    • Cleans equipment according to proper cleaning procedures.
    • Uses standard measuring and serving tools to produce uniform results and servings.
    • Prepares food efficiently using appropriate equipment in a proper manner and following designated health and safety regulations.
    • Maintain personal cleanliness and hygiene
    • Notifies the manager immediately of any work injuries or accidents.
    • Attend all required meetings and in-service training programs.
    • Promote team work and public relations.
    • Assume any other duties assigned by Manager.
