    Job Title:   TECHNICIAN                                
    Reports to:  Chief Technology Officer

    Hourly Rate Range $18.32-$21.95/HR 
     
     

    GENERAL DUTIES

    This position will provide support of the end user technologies and enterprise systems of the McMinn County School District, facilitating the District’s mission.
    The Technician will provide tier one support of the District’s Enterprise Systems including, but not limited to, user email, database, applications, file storage, document management,
    classroom technologies, telecommunications, computers and the supporting infrastructure. Technician will be empowered to work as a team member, identify gaps between customer
    needs and existing systems, propose innovative solutions, and execute solutions exceeding customer expectations.
     

    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

     
    1. Excellent written and oral communication skills
    2. Flexible and adaptable to changing activities and work loads
    3. Ability to perform advanced, complex repairs, and upgrades on a wide variety of systems and end user technologies
    4. Ability to simultaneously coordinate and complete multiple projects
    5. Knowledge of advanced troubleshooting techniques
    6. Ability to diagnose the nature and extent of a wide range of end user technology problems
    7. In-depth knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, and end user technology
    8. Working knowledge of networking components and their use
    9. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating systems, and applications in a multi-protocol, enterprise network
    10. Demonstrated ability to learn and desire to keep current with changes occurring in the industry
    11. Ability to work positively and cooperatively with others
    12. Ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures or backgrounds in English, Spanish, or other languages related to the job
    13. Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or district patrons

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

     
    1. Investigate, analyze, and resolve hardware, software, and communications problems on McMinn County School District technology systems, perform complex hardware repairs and maintenance on a wide range of end user technologies
    2. Assist users to assure that hardware and software solutions operates in a manner consistent with expectations; provide troubleshooting assistance as necessary; coordinate responses to users with supervisors as necessary
    3. Provide advanced technical assistance and support, troubleshoot and resolve system hardware, software and communication failures and conflicts
    4. Evaluate existing end user technologies, and perform system upgrades based on user needs and tests solutions, resolving configuration conflicts and errors
    5. Install, integrate, and configure new end user technologies
    6. Research, analyze, and recommend, appropriate end user technology configurations
    7. Review, prioritize, and process work order reports; document the progress of projects; complete assignments to exceed customer expectation
    8. Exceed customer expectations in dealing with and responding to end users
    9. Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment
