PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient environment in which to learn, plan and develop
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Special Knowledge/Skills:
1. Ability to speak, read and write English at the eighth grade level, preferred
2. Ability to learn the job through on-the-job training
3. Knowledge of proper sequence of activities required to perform the job preferred
4. Ability to fully comprehend instructions/directions
5. Ability to perform work tasks independent of constant supervision
6. Ability to perform repetitive work on a continuous basis
7. Ability to match or discriminate between colors by sight or from memory sufficient to distinguish color safety codes and perform job accurately and safely

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Keeps school building in a clean and orderly condition.
2. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and/or dusts floors in classrooms, offices, restrooms, storage areas, hallways, auditorium, gymnasium, and other areas of the school buildings.
3. Mixes water, detergents, or chemicals to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications as directed.
4. Strips floor surfaces of wax or other protective coating and apply new wax or protective coating.
5. Operates buffer.
6. Replaces burned out light bulbs and filters in air conditioning/heating system as directed or scheduled.
7. Keeps outside walkways clean of debris and dirt.  (May include driveway from public street to front of school building)
8. Moves and/or sets up desks, tables, chairs, and/or storage cabinets as directed.
9. Cleans restroom fixtures with proper cleaning solution and disinfectants as directed.
10. Cleans/removes debris from any location in or around school building which may constitute a safety/health hazard.
11. Reports all major building maintenance repair needs, safety, or security problems to the principal or supervisor on the day detected or the following day in the manner required by school policy and procedures.
12. Performs all job functions with special attention to good public relations, safety, health, and proper procedures.
13. Follows a specific work schedule if directed.
14. Attends meetings as directed by the supervisor.
15. Follows proper safety procedures; follow safety regulations in the performance of duties; and report accidents immediately.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:
17. Occasionally (0 to 33% of the work day) lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds of weight with frequent (34 to 66% of the work day) lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds or constant (67 to 99% of the work day) lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds
18. Stand up to 2 ½ hours at a time during the work day
19. Walk up to 2 ½ hours at a time during the work day
20. Climb ladder up to 15 feet in height

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, and comfortable environment  by maintaining the grounds of all district schools in a condition of safety, neatness, and aesthetic attractiveness.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
1. Ability to speak, read, and write English at the 8^th Grade Level
2. Must have and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License and be insurable
Special Knowledge/Skills:
1. Ability to read and understand written instruction.
2. Ability to operate yard maintenance and landscaping equipment (Tractor, riding and power mower, power tools, and hand tools)
3. Ability to lift and carry 45 lbs. without assistance
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Assists in propagating and cultivating gardens, plants, trees, shrubs and grass; maintaining lawns and playgrounds by mowing, edging, fertilizing and seeding; Collects and disposes of leaves, dirt, rubbish, and refuses from district facilities.
2. Helps keep vehicle in safe operating condition, and inspects and adjusts tools and equipment for safety and efficiency and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
3. Works cooperatively with other departments in maintaining school properties.
4. Learns proper safety procedures; to follow safety regulations in the performance of duties; and to report accidents immediately.
5. Works outside of regular assigned work schedule to include night and/or weekend duty as requested.
6. Ensures vehicles, equipment, and tool boxes are locked and secure at all times while vehicle is left unattended.
7. Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.

EQUIPMENT USED:
Shop equipment and tools:
Must be familiar with line markers, tractor and mower, riding and power mowers and all lawn equipment, ladder, garden and small hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, sockets, pliers, crimpers, wire cutters, etc.), hand saws, power tools, drills, jacks, and lift equipment, gas-powered weed trimmer, blower, edger, sprayer, and striping machine.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, and comfortable environment by supervising the operation and maintenance of all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in the district in a condition of safety, neatness, and aesthetic attractiveness.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
1. High school diploma or GED required
2. Technical school preferred
3. Refrigeration recovery certification
4. Must have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable
Special Knowledge/Skills:
1. Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
2. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material
3. Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
4. Ability to use hand and power tools
5. Knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computers (smartphone, iPad, laptops)
6. HVAC controls software systems
Experience:
1. At least five years experience in HVAC field/Controls field
 
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Assists in the operation and maintenance of all HVAC and refrigeration equipment in the district.
2. Diagnoses and repairs malfunctions in various types of heating and air conditioning systems, including rooftop equipment.
3. Installs new heating and air conditioning systems and components.
4. Relocates and expands existing HVAC systems as needed.
5. Repairs, replaces, or calibrates controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring.
6. Fabricates, assembles, and installs duct work and piping according to specifications and code.
7. Wires and connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, and humidity controls according to wiring schematics.
8. Maintains Freon dispensing records to meet federal requirements.
9. Maintains preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for all HVAC tools and equipment, including changing of filters and cleaning condensers and coils.
10. Performs duct cleaning and air quality testing as needed.
11. Selects material and hardware and makes time and materials estimates.
12. Maintains accurate records on material and labor used.
13. Inspects jobs upon completion and ensures areas are clean.
14. Works with building principals and supervisors to complete projects.
15. Detects needed repairs on equipment following established inspection procedures.
16. Responds to emergency calls as needed.
17. Schedules, monitor and control the functions of Direct Digital Control (DDC) HVAC control systems as a primary function.
18. Irregular hours.
19. Works with Energy Management to implement energy conservation measures.
20. Configures, troubleshoots and program HVAC controllers.
21. Works outside of regular assigned works schedule to include night and/or weekend duty as requested.
22. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.; ensures that equipment is in safe operating condition and operates tolls and equipment accordingly
23. Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
24. Ensures vehicles, equipment, and tool boxes are locked and secure at all times while vehicle is left unattended.
25. Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others.
26. Performs other related duties as assigned.
