    Position is for the 2024-2025 school year
     
    POSITION:  Teacher, Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Special Education (Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish required)
    LOCATION:  Adventure Elementary
                          Dual Language Program
    PAY RANGE: Licensed Salary Schedule, $60,004 - $124,634 Annual Salary
    CALENDAR: 190 Days
    REPORTS TO: School Director/Principal
     
    SCHOOL DESIGN OVERVIEW:
    Adventure Elementary is a dual language enrichment school where students are exposed to rigorous academics, learn to think critically, and demonstrate real-world understanding. Learning experiences and service-learning projects actively engage Adventure students in their education. What makes Adventure unique is that we offer all students the opportunity to become proficient in English and Spanish. All students participate in Crew meetings every morning. Crew is a sacred part of the day in which students and teachers build community within their rooms so that every child feels important and connected to a trusted adult and each other. At Adventure we are working hard to develop students that are effective learners, ethical people, and contribute to a better world.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Colorado teaching license with an appropriate Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education endorsement required.
    • Additional endorsement in English Learning Professional Development required, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education preferred, *or willingness to pursue endorsement or equivalent coursework. *
    • K-3 teachers must provide documentation of evidence-based literacy training per CDE requirements.
    • Bilingual Required.
     
    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:
    Applicants need to be highly motivated, flexible, dedicated, and creative to promote a positive climate and culture.
     
    1. Willingness and ability to meet the diverse needs of learners (including special education, at-risk, linguistically, and culturally diverse) by adjusting curriculum and working cooperatively with other staff through inclusion.
    2. Conduct parent teacher conferences, home visits and ongoing communication with parents.
    3. Demonstrate a clear understanding of early childhood education and developmentally appropriate practices.
    4. Operate as the classroom lead teacher.
    5. Demonstrate an understanding of a variety of screening and assessment tools appropriate for young children.
    6. Be able to provide individualized instructional support for students.
    7. Be able to lead and supervise one or more paraprofessionals in the classroom.
    8. Commitments and competencies in using a variety of instructional deliveries are including, but limited to, cooperative learning, and interdisciplinary instructional thematic units.
    9. Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to a standards-based system of designing and delivering instruction and assessment.
    10. Will demonstrate a willingness to collaborate and solve problems with professional peers.
    11. Designs instructional intervention that is clearly focused on the standards and assessments established by the District and the State.
    12. Provides expanded opportunities and support for learner success.
    13. Aligns all instruction with and designs instructional interventions with State and local standards and assessments.
    14. If a licensed ECSE:
    15. Demonstrate the ability to write and update IEP’s.
    16. Demonstrate proficiency in evaluation to determine if special education services are needed and understand the Colorado preschool special education laws and regulations.
     
    1. Willingness to participate in mandatory training and staff development/workshops.
     
    NOTE: Preschool teachers are hired and assigned to schools and programs based on the level and type of student needs. Staff members may be reassigned in accordance with applicable law and policy, when any of the following occur: program modification, enrollment decline, or change in level and/or type of student needs.
