PAY RANGE: Licensed Salary Schedule, $60,004 - $124,634 Annual Salary
CALENDAR: 190 Days
REPORTS TO: School Director/Principal
SCHOOL DESIGN OVERVIEW:
Mapleton Early Career Prep is a Big Picture school with a “one student at a time” approach to education. Students have a customized, independent Learning Plan (ILP), balancing classes, workshops, independent learning, real-world learning through professional internships, and access to college courses aligned to their unique ILP. Students demonstrate competency in Postsecondary Workforce Readiness (PWR), which leads to technical skill attainment in any chosen occupation with a focus on high-wage occupations or high-skill in high-demand industries that promote self-sufficiency. Student opportunities in this pathway are created in collaboration with educators, business representatives, and community stakeholders and create locally responsive, relevant work-based, and school-based learning experiences. By senior year, students have learned to become problem-solvers, lifelong learners, and cooperative members of the community, preparing them for college, career, and life.

QUALIFICATIONS: - Colorado teaching license with an appropriate Social Studies endorsement required.
- Additional endorsement in English Language Arts is preferred.
- Additional endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education preferred, *or willingness to pursue endorsement or equivalent coursework. *
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES: - Deep understanding of Colorado Academic Standards.
- Desire to grow professionally, be reflective, and seek out new opportunities.
- Experience using multiple formative and summative assessments to create flexible groups and provide differentiated instruction.
- Experience using a range of effective instructional practices (active pedagogy) to give students support and multiple opportunities needed to meet or exceed standards.
- Experience designing standards-based learning experiences.
- Experience with second language development strategies integrated into core content instruction and assessments.
- Experience with developing inquiry-based instruction and project-based learning.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS: - Required participation in Mapleton’s Secondary Constructing Institute (course options will be provided throughout the year)
- Have a commitment to raising achievement for all students, including English Language Learners and those who are performing below grade level.
- Develop lesson plans which ensure instruction is paced well, encourage students to think critically, engage all students in authentic and productive learning, and ensure smooth classroom management.
- Design and promote a rigorous culture of learning in the classroom and school with both students and staff.
- Modelling and instilling habits of mind to contribute to a supportive culture for all.
- Demonstrate and model high expectations and successful relationship strategies for all students to succeed.
- Design and deliver instructional plans based on the Colorado Academic Standards that are purposeful, engaging, and meet the differentiated needs of all students. Use district-adopted curricular resources. Conduct formative assessments that guide instruction.
- Establish and document two-way communication with parents and students about their progress towards grade-level expectations.
- Willingness and ability to collaborate with colleagues across content areas. Collaboration includes participating in planning meetings to develop integrated instruction and improve teaching practices, implementing a rigorous curriculum, authentic instruction, and multiple assessment strategies.
