TITLE: MULTILINGUAL SPECIALIST

QUALIFICATIONS: 
1. Licensure: Professional Educator License (PEL) with a self-contained general education grade range endorsement (ECE B-3 or Elementary K-9 or Elementary 1-6)  plus a Bilingual Endorsement covering the grade range or an ELS (TBE)
2. Experience: Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience in a bilingual setting; prior administrative or coaching experience preferred.
3. Language: Spanish proficiency preferred.
4. Knowledge of:
   • Best practices in multilingual education and language acquisition.
   • Federal and state regulations governing bilingual and EL education.
   • Instructional coaching and professional development strategies.

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF TEACHING & LEARNING AND PRINCIPALS

JOB GOAL: The Multilingual Specialist will provide leadership, support, and coordination for the district’s multilingual programs, including English Learner (EL) for Dual Language and Transitional Program of Instruction (TPI). This position ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, supports best practices in multilingual education, and facilitates professional learning for staff to enhance language acquisition and academic success for multilingual learners.
