  •   The Lodi Board of Education is seeking an experienced School Business Administrator/Board Secretary to join the district’s administrative team.  Lodi Public Schools is a PreK-12 school district with seven schools, approximately 3250 students.
     
    POSITION: School Business Administrator/Board Secretary

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Possess a valid New Jersey School Business Administrator Certificate.
    • New Jersey Qualified Purchasing Agent Certification preferred.
    • Five (5) plus years of successful experience as School Business official required.
    • Experience working with employee benefits and payroll, budget preparation and administration, purchasing, interfund accounting, school plant operations and facility planning.
    • Understanding of the principles and practices of NJ financial accounting, reporting procedures consistent with statute, code, and GAAP requirements.
    • Knowledge of accepted business practices in school districts.
    • The ability to relate well to staff and the community in a collaborative, shared, decision- making environment
    • Experience with State and Federal reports/grant management to include: Title I-IV, PEA, ESEA, IDEA, ASSA, SNEARS and DRTRS.
    • Skilled with Board of Education procedures and policies and Board Secretary responsibilities.

    QUALIFICATIONS:  
    1. A New Jersey School Principal Certification.
    2. Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
    3. 3 years of successful supervisory or administrative experience preferred.
    4. Strong knowledge of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) and ability to ensure curriculum alignment and implementation.
    5. Strong instructional leadership skills with a focus on equity, academic rigor, and continuous improvement.

    • Carry out the duties of the classroom teacher as outlined in the lesson plans, manage student classroom behavior and enforce school rules and policies in the absence of the classroom teacher. This includes:
    • Creating a positive learning environment
    • Providing instruction to students by following the teacher's substitute lesson plans
    • Building positive relationship with students and faculty
    • Motivating students to learn and participate in the daily lessons
    • Demonstrating a familiarity with school, philosophy, program and policies.
     

    Qualifications:

    Substitute teachers shall make every effort within their area of professional expertise to instruct children in their charge in accordance with the curriculum adopted by the Board of Education.

     
    TIME SCHEDULE: 
    PreK-Grade 5:                     
    8:30 a.m. – report to assigned school
    Lunch: 12:00 p.m.-12:50 p.m.
    3:00 p.m. – sign out   
    Middle School:
    8:30 a.m. – report
    Lunch – 40 min assigned period
    3:00 p.m. – sign out
     
    PERFORMING RESPONSIBILITIES:
     
    1.         Follows plans and instructions of the regular teacher.
    2.         Conducts effective learning experiences.
    3.         Establishes and encourages, in a fair and just manner, standards of acceptable pupil behavior.
    4.         Maintains the physical condition of the classroom, equipment and supplies.
    5.         Upholds and enforces school rules and regulations.
    6.         Studies, and implements when necessary, fire drill and school evacuation procedures.
