Effectively uses personal computing devices and software applications for the management of student records, instructional efficiency, and professional development. Meets with parents, administrators and school counselors as needed to discuss student performance, social and emotional needs, behavior, and personal and academic goals and expectations, etc.; issues reports in accordance with school board policy to inform parents/guardians of students’ progress; suggests interventions as appropriate. If applicable, supervises activities of assigned instructional assistants which involve such duties as planning and reviewing work and providing instruction, guidance and training. Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Education/Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in elementary education or related area of discipline with previous student teaching experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities Valid South Carolina teaching certification

Prepares various records and forms such as lesson plans, daily and weekly activity plans, assessments, material requisitions, discipline reports, etc. Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops. As needed, conducts immersion program information sessions to all stakeholders.   Organizes classrooms and other settings for daily instruction. Selects, requests, and maintains an inventory of instructional aides, technology tools, equipment, and supplies needed for daily activities; provides for safe storage and proper use of all materials, equipment and tools. Effectively uses personal computing devices and software applications for the management of student records, instructional efficiency, and professional development. Meets with parents, administrators and school counselors as needed to discuss student performance, social and emotional needs, behavior, and personal and academic goals and expectations, etc.; issues reports in accordance with school board policy to inform parents/guardians of students’ progress; suggests interventions as appropriate.  Meets with the district immersion team throughout the year to set goals, plan, and evaluate the Immersion programs.   If applicable, supervises activities of assigned instructional assistants that involve such duties as planning and reviewing work and providing instruction, guidance and training. Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Education/Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in elementary education or related area of discipline with previous student teaching experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities Valid South Carolina teaching certification

Knowledge of the policies, procedures, and activities of the school district that pertain to the specific duties and responsibilities of the position. Knowledge of school policies, procedures, and operations. Ability to demonstrate proper maintenance, safe operation, and utilization of equipment, materials, and supplies used in daily activities. Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy in exercising duties. Ability to anticipate work to be completed and to complete work without the need for direct supervision. Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee and student records and information. Ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, co-workers, teachers, students, and the general public.
Working Conditions:
Conducts duties in a classroom environment and on field studies with no significant exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Requires constant attention working with students. Physical demands are restricted to classroom work requiring occasional lifting/moving of items up to twenty-five pounds. Occasional travel is required; limited overnight travel required.
Responsibility:
Responsible for supervision of students in classrooms, field studies and other instructional settings. Responsible for classroom materials and supplies budget (if applicable). Responsible for maintenance and inventory of equipment; responsible for reporting equipment malfunctions and safety issues.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the school board’s policy on evaluation of certified personnel.
