Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
FTE/Schedule: 0.2 FTE, 1 day/week
Requirements: Education, Licenses & Certifications in accordance with Connecticut State Department of Education
Reports to: Director of Pupil Services and Building Administration
Experience:
Working with students identified with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
Working with students with behavioral challenges due to a variety of disabilities
Completion of FBAs and development & implementation of BIPs
Experience working in public schools preferred
Preferred knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
Roles & Responsibilities:
Support district-wide special and general education staff with behavioral supports and services designed to assist students in the Least Restrictive Environment.
Completion of Functional Behavior Assessments
Develop & implement behavior management protocols and Behavior Intervention Plans
Provide support and oversee management of Behavior Intervention Plans
Maintain appropriate records and data pertaining to behavior protocols and plans and prepare reports
Provide coaching and professional development to staff on behavior interventions and supports
Participate in Planning and Placement Team meetings
Consultation with general and special education classroom teachers on students identified with behavioral challenges through the SST process
Participate in the referral and/or re-evaluation process when a diagnosis of ASD is being considered for eligibility for school-based special education services.
Consultation with school based teams to assist with creating safety plans, and Tier III Behavior Intervention Plans
Assist with developing and providing staff training and preparation for working effectively with students with a diagnosis of Autism and ASD as well as those with other behavior disorders
