Our Mission: The mission of the La Center School District is to create a supportive learning environment that empowers students to reach their fullest potential. Position Description: Our assistant coaches support the district mission by:
- Coaching and developing players on the C team, as well as assisting with the JV and varsity teams
- Working with all the coaches from Middle School and High School, as well as with the head varsity coach to build a cohesive 7-12 volleyball program
Terms of Employment: August 25, 2025 - October 30, 2025
- The C team coach must be available for practices each weekday after school and some Saturdays
- Game days will be in the evening and could be late if the team is playing away
- The successful candidate must be fingerprinted at their own expense
- Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check and clearance by the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation
Salary: $3,150 - $4,305 per season depending on experience
Benefits: Eligible employees may accrue sick leave at the rate of one (1) hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked under Washington State law. Upon working 630 hours in a school year, eligible employees may be eligible for insurance benefits through School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) which includes, medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance.
Required Qualifications: - High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Experience playing volleyball at the High School level or beyond
- Experience coaching a sport at the Middle School level or beyond
- Valid CPR Card on file prior to the first day of coaching athletes
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience playing and coaching volleyball at the High School level or beyond
- Be able to assist with spring and summer workouts and fundraising
