• Adult Basic Education (ABE) - focuses on foundational skills like reading, writing, math, and language, often preparing adults for high school equivalency (GED) or further education, and sometimes including life skills and digital literacy. 
• GED Preparation – GED classes prepare individuals for the General Educational Development tests, which are a series of four academic subject tests that can lead to a high school equivalency credential, covering subjects like language arts, math, science, and social studies. 
• English Language Instruction – ESL (English as a Second Language) classes focus on teaching non-native English speakers the language skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing, along with cultural understanding, to facilitate effective communication in English-speaking environments. 
• American Citizenship Preparation – classes focus on preparing adults to pass the American Citizenship Test. Focus on questions used by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) and offer practice tests.
Endorsement 107.  If you hold a CT certification or BA degree, you are eligible to apply for Endorsement 107 to teach in our Adult Education program if you meet the requirements outlined (see below links)

 The Killingly Therapeutic Academy is currently seeking two special education teachers to join our team in providing specialized services to students with identified social-emotional disabilities. This program is designed as a clinical day program for students who require a more structured, therapeutic environment to access the general education curriculum.
 
The program will be supported by two full-time clinicians, along with additional behavioral support staff, ensuring a comprehensive and supportive learning environment. With a student-to-staff ratio of approximately 1 adult to 3-4 students, this position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with students in need of individualized support.
 
We are looking for passionate professionals who are committed to fostering a positive and effective learning experience for students with unique needs.

Qualifications:
• Must hold a 165 Comprehensive Special Education Certification
• knowledge of high school curriculum
• an understanding of trauma-informed practices
• CTSEDS experience is preferred (not required)
• Strong desire to work with students with emotional disabilities
• Understanding of the best practices in Transition requirements for students ages 14-18 
• Experience working in other clinical programs is preferred
• Dually certified in general education and special education preferred not required

The Killingly Therapeutic Academy is currently seeking two special education teachers to join our team in providing specialized services to students with identified social-emotional disabilities. This program is designed as a clinical day program for students who require a more structured, therapeutic environment to access the general education curriculum.

Qualifications:
• Must hold a 165 Comprehensive Special Education Certification
• Knowledge of middle school curriculum
• An understanding of trauma-informed practices
• CTSEDS experience is preferred (not required)
• Strong desire to work with students with emotional disabilities
• Understanding of the best practices in Transition requirements for students ages 10-13
• Experience working in other clinical programs is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
• Associate degree in Office Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an administrative support role, preferably in a school district or government setting.
• Strong understanding of confidentiality protocols and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Proficient in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), including content creation and engagement.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and other office productivity software.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, with strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Previous experience with Board policies, school district governance, or public relations is a plus.
