Our 2024-2025 Initial Instructional Salary Level Placement Guide offers compensation information for newly hired teachers.  You can expect to earn between $62,100 and $102,300 annually depending on verified years of full-time, certified, K-12 teaching experience. Verification forms will be provided to applicants upon hire or request. Explore our comprehensive 2025 Benefits Guide with insurance premium rates conveniently listed on page 13. Choose between the Florida Retirement System Pension Plan or Investment Plan.

We strongly encourage applicants to start the FL certification process prior to April 2025.  Processing with the FL Department of Education can take 90 days and will not begin until your application is complete, payment received and all required documents are in your file.  All FL educators must establish a new user account and obtain a FL DOE number for access to the Florida Department of Education Bureau of Educator Certification at www.fldoe.org/edcert.   Send required documents with FL DOE number indicated, which would include a front AND back copy of any valid out of state professional educator certificate(s) you may have and official transcripts showing date degree(s) conferred by electronic method of only Speedy or Faster or have them mailed to:

Instructional staff currently in district positions bargained between the District School Board of Monroe County and the United Teachers of Monroe may apply for this Instructional Transfer Request.  PLEASE NOTE:  Charter employees are not internal applicants, they should not submit this Transfer Request and must apply directly for positions they desire.   

Voluntary Transfer Request
Recognizing the need to maintain both staff stability and opportunities for employees to transfer from one work location to another, the Board agrees to provide an opportunity for voluntary transfers based upon the following principles:

A. Application for Transfer: Applications for transfer will be submitted using the Frontline – Recruit & Hire application system by April 1, prior to the beginning of the school year in which the transfer is to take effect. Applications may be filed after this deadline and will be processed if and when it appears that all vacancies in the work location will not be filled by prior applicants, surplus employees, or new employee appointments. Transfer provisions filed after the deadline shall not be a reason to deny any employee from applying for any posted vacancy. The Frontline – Recruit & Hire system shall provide the employees with the opportunity to list an unlimited number of schools to which a transfer is requested. Employees wishing to activate a transfer application are not subject to prior approval by their principal.

B. The Transfer List: A list of all employees seeking transfer, to be known as the Transfer List, shall be established and maintained on the FRONTLINE – RECRUIT & HIRE system in the Personnel Department and be accessible to all administrators or their designee and the Union. The list will not be cleared until August 10th of each year.

School Related Personnel (SRP) Voluntary Transfers:

SRP employees are non-charter and non-instructional Maintenance, Transportation, Custodian and Food Service workers currently in district positions bargained between the District School Board of Monroe County and the United Teachers of Monroe.

Any SRP employee shall have the right to apply for a transfer to another work location within the same job classification. Requests for transfer are active for a one year period from the date of request and may be renewed for one additional year.
