  •   Vicksburg Community Schools, a premier K-12 public school district in southern Kalamazoo county, is accepting applications for a Tobey Elementary School Principal This is a 10 1/2 -month full-time benefits eligible position

    Our District serves over 2600 students in one high school, an alternative high school, one middle school, and three elementary schools and employs approximately 160 teachers and 200 other employees to meet the needs of our students.  Vicksburg Schools has a strong sense of community, demonstrated in the commitment to providing excellent schools and education for our children.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Valid Michigan School Administrator Certificate.
    • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with at least four (4) years of teaching experience, elementary preferred
    • Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in educational leadership or administration
    • Experience with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) implementation
    • Demonstrates strong instructional and curriculum leadership
    • Proven ability to foster a collaborative and positive school culture
    • Knowledge of and experience with student due process, discipline, and restorative practices
    • Effective communicator and visible leader who engages with students, staff, and families
    • Ability to work as a supportive team player within the district leadership team
    • Strong background in staff supervision, evaluation, and professional development
    • Demonstrated use of technology to enhance teaching, learning, and school operations
    • High expectations for student achievement, staff excellence, and accountability

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Oversee student attendance and discipline policies
    • Supervise and support special education services and compliance
    • Provide leadership in curriculum implementation and instructional practices
    • Conduct teacher evaluations and staff development
    • Serve as an event supervisor for school and community functions
    • Support school improvement initiatives and data-driven decision-making
    • Collaborate with district leaders on budgeting, staffing, and strategic planning
    • Foster family and community engagement to enhance student success
    POSITION DETAILS:
    • 210-day contract
    • Salary commensurate with experience
