SALARY: Dependent on years of teaching experience and certification
Salary scale starting at $43,044
WILL HONOR 100% OF PRIOR FULL-TIME TEACHING YEARS
Eligible school for Teacher Loan Forgiveness
Merit Pay, Sick Day Buyback Program, and Tuition Reimbursement per CEA Contract

CERTIFICATION: Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, required
English Language Arts Endorsement (BA or BX), required
ESL and Bilingual Endorsement (NS or YA-YT), required
Additional core endorsement (DA, EX, BT, etc.), preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in English and ESL required
Proven ability to work with at-risk middle school students
Experience with addressing the needs of students of all ability levels
Experience in differentiated instruction
Experience in teaching writing, grammar, and public speaking
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains meaningful positive rapport with students and parents
Provides standards-based, structured project-based learning that interconnects with core subjects
Supports students who need ESL services
Creates and maintains effective environments for student learning
Uses technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration
Collaborates with staff to plan, integrate, and enhance grade-level standards in the classroom
Pursues professional development that supports improved classroom practice
Develops rigorous lesson plans that are driven by student assessment
Uses formative assessment to analyze progress toward student goals
Ensures that students display knowledge of grade-level content standards
Champion and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion
