Job Description
Position Title:   Teacher
Position Type:  Salary $45,634 annual / Exempt 
Position Hours:  Full-time; Monday – Friday; 40 Hours per Week
Reports to:  Campus Principal
Length of Term/Employment:  190 workdays / At-will
 
Position Mission:  Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.  Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Position Minimum Qualifications:
• Hold at least a bachelor’s degree.
• Be fully certified to teach in Texas.
• Demonstrate competency in their core academic subject area.
• Must believe fully in the mission and vision of Jubilee Academies.
 
Job Duties:
Instructional Strategies:
• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of school curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Prepare emergency lesson plan folder to cover 2 days of material.
• Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to guidelines established to Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students.
• Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
• Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for SPED students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans.
• Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
• Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aid and volunteers.
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Participate in extended day and weekend school tutoring as required.
 
Student Growth and Development:
• Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
• Teach students to work toward self-discipline and responsibility.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.  Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus Assistant Director.
• Be a positive role model for students, support mission of school.
• Ensure good student discipline by being regular in attendance and on time.
 
Classroom Management and Organization:
• Create a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
• Maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
• Will use the discipline management plan to include but not limited to:
 
• Ground rules, stated positively and posted so they may be easily seen.
• A step process which includes reinforcement for appropriate on task behavior and consequences for inappropriate off-task behavior, which is posted at all times.
• A lesson agenda, which models task organization and time management skills and insures total time planning in the classroom.
 
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Assist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
 
Communication:
• Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, directors, and teachers.
• Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
• Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
 
Professional Growth and Development:
• Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
 
Other:
• Work week schedule: Work day begins at 7:30 a.m.
• Adheres to staff dress code.
• Arrive at first morning class 15 minutes before class bell.
• Maintains a good working relationship with Jubilee Academies’ staff and parents.
• Actively participates in two school committees, and will chair one committee.
• Keeps Jubilee Academies School Assistant Director informed of maintenance problems.
• Actively supports and participates in fundraising activities of Jubilee Academies.
• Compile, maintain, and fill all reports, records, and other documents required.
• Actively stays abreast of new developments in education.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• May supervise assigned teacher aide(s) or volunteers
Charter & Community Responsibilities:
• Convey the charter’s mission to the public and encourage support in accomplishing the mission.
• Illustrate understanding of Charter and community needs and begin activities to meet those needs.
• Demonstrate use of productive and efficient skills to raise community and parent involvement.
• Actively participate in student recruitment efforts.

• Promote fairness of students and staff from all cultural backgrounds.

JOB DESCRIPTION
 
Job Title: Texas ACE 21st CCLC Program Staff             
Wage/Hour Status: Part Time | $20/hr
Days: 180 / At Will
Reports To: Texas ACE Site Coordinator,                       
 
Schools Hiring: Jubilee Harlingen, Jubilee Leadership, Jubilee Brownsville, Jubilee Livingway,
Jubilee Kingsville, Jubilee San Antonio, Jubilee Westwood, Jubilee Highland Hills, Jubilee Lakeview Univ. Prep, Jubilee Wells Branch
 
Length of Term: Grant Based, 1-year, up to 5 years
 
Funding Source: TEA - Texas 21^st Century Community Learning Centers Grant
 
Primary Purpose:
Provide support to the Texas ACE  Campus Site Coordinator in accordance with activities for the Texas ACE Afterschool program. 
Qualifications:
Minimum – HS diploma or GED
Enrollment in a major field of study or completed degree in Social Work, Recreation, or Education (preferred)
Bilingual – Spanish (preferred)
 
Special Knowledge/skills:
 
• Basic computer and software knowledge
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Excellent communication, organizational, time management and leadership skills
• Ability to work in a team setting with a positive attitude
• Ability to oversee and supervise various educational and recreational projects
• Ability to read instructions and implement activities
  
Experience:
 
• Experience working with ‘at risk’ youth (preferred)

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
 
• Coordinate, plan and implement with the Texas ACE campus Site Coordinator regarding educational and enrichment activities with program partners for all Texas ACE Afterschool events
• Communicate with Texas ACE Assistant Director regarding specific Texas ACE Afterschool program operations/needs.
• Ensure upkeep of Texas ACE Afterschool program property and equipment. Maintain a working knowledge of how to utilize all afterschool property and equipment
• Work closely with Texas ACE Project Assistant Director to retain organized and accurate records and assist in record maintenance as instructed.
• Attend required meetings, training and other events as instructed.
• Implement safety and discipline guidelines
• Maintain a working knowledge of Jubilee Academies policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
