The After-School Program Worker will assist with the implementation of a quality program that enriches the students academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 
• Work effectively with students in after school activities and assist with behavior management, discipline, interpersonal actions, and act as a role model. 

• Maintain a safe and educational learning environment for young children by successfully implementing daily program activities

• Lead children in activities

• Supervise snack and outdoor play

• Assist children with day to day needs

• Other duties as appropriate and assigned

Hourly Rate of Pay: $12.00 per hour

Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate teacher to serve students with multiple exceptionalities in a small group setting. You will provide individualized instruction, implement IEPs, and collaborate with families and staff to support students' academic, social, and emotional growth.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and eligible for GaPSC provisional certification in Special Education
• Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Valid GaPSC teaching certification in Special Education General Curriculum and/or Adaptive Curriculum
• Special education teaching experience particuarly in an elementary school setting
• Knowledge of IEP writing and compliance
• Experience incorporating technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance  learning
Working Conditions:
• Work is performed in a standard in-person classroom setting within a high school environment
• Regularly involves movement, speaking, and interacting with students, parents, and colleagues
• May require occasional lifting of materials or equipment
• May require occasional student restraint, training in restraint techniques will be provided
• Requires the ability to use classroom technology, including projectors, computers, and learning management systems
• Regular work hours are during the school day, with occasional evening or weekend commitments for parent-teacher conferences, school events, or professional development
• Must be adaptable to varying student needs and class sizes
• May include additional duties such as sponsoring extracurricular activities or supervising student clubs
Employment Terms:
• 190 Work Calendar
• Annual Salary based on degree level and previous years of experience in a similar role
