Description: Athletic Grounds/Maintenance Supervisor 

Job Summary:  Perfom and maintain Athletic fields/grounds in a safe and professional manner.  Perform field/lawn services to include but not limited to mowing, moving/hauling, aeration, field striping.  Knowledge in small engine repair a plus.
Plan, estimate, and select equipment for small job assignments.
Move, haul, store, and transport district equipment, furniture, supplies, and parts.
Assemble prefabricated furniture, shelving and additional athletic storage furniture.
Receive and complete work orders on a computer based program.
Maintain accurate records of time and materials used.
Inspect work upon completion and ensure areas are left clean of debris and the area is secure and safe for students, staff, and general public.
Work with supervisors, administrators,complete jobs assignments.
Respond to emergency calls as needed.
Recycle old equipment, furniture, metal, and supplies.
 
 
Safety:
Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
Operate tools in a safe and efficient manner and according to safety standards
Ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
Correct unsafe working conditions and report unsafe conditions to your supervisor.


Qualifications: Knowledge of basic mechanical repairs.
Ability to operate lawn equipment
Ability to operate general tools for grounds work.
Ability to lift objects or equipment that may be heavy.
Knowledge of chemicals used in maintaining building systems.
Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and rules.
Ability operate trucks and pull trailers with secured loads.
Experience:  Prefer 1 to 3 years in similar job fields.

Working Conditions:  Continued standing, walking, climbing of stairs, laders and into lifts.  Bending, carrying, kneeling, reaching, lifting, some of furniture, parts and equipment are heavy.  Exposure to loud noise, Exposer to exttreme heat, humidity, rain and cold depending on weather conditions.  Frequent district travel within the city.  Uniforms are porvided with identification badges and shall be worn according to athletic policy.
