Job Summary:
Provide specialized services for students on an IEP for the disability of Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing in order support their access to and growth in the school setting. Participate in Individual Educational Program (IEP) development and implementation for students who are Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing in accordance with Harrison School District Two policies and procedures. Provide appropriate remedial and/or compensatory training to include, but not limited to; pre-teaching activities, adaptation of materials and strategies, hearing aid training language development and stimulation. American Sign Language as appropriate. Consult frequently with building and district personnel and parents as to the child's progress.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Participate in building student problem solving meetings for students with hearing losses.
• Complete educational evaluations of the students who are Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing to include formal and informal testing, observations and interviews.
• Participate as an Individual Education Plan (IEP).
• Meeting Team member when deemed necessary.
• Assist in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists when appropriate.
• Provide information and support to parents and families when appropriate.
• Provide materials and/or information for the classroom teacher, special education teacher, and other related service providers.
• Presents programs and in-services concerning hearing impairments to building and district level personnel as requested.
• Maintain, with the audiologist, lists of referred, screened, and eligible students.
• Make contacts with area professionals and agencies as deemed necessary.
• May supervise student teachers in the field of teaching students who are Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
 Qualifications:
• Possesses or be eligible to receive a Colorado Teaching License with the appropriate endorsement.
• Candidate must be endorsed in the content area, passed the PLACE or PRAXIS test in the content area, and/or have 24 semester credits in the content area to meet Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) “highly qualified” status.

Job Summary:
Speech/Language Pathologists (SLP) support the identification and intervention of students with communicative disorders which negatively impact education and/or social development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Counsel and educate families or other professionals about these disorders and their management.
• Complete relevant plans and assessments required by law and State rules and regulations.
• SLPs are assigned based on case load to regional schools to limit travel and maximize time with students.

Education, Training and Education:
• Master's Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology required.
• Possess or be eligible for Colorado Department of Education Special Service Providers License with Speech Language Pathologist Endorsement.
• Candidate must be endorsed in the content area.
• Knowledge of Colorado Severity Rating Scale.

Job Summary:
The Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) serves as a member of an educational team and is authorized to perform tasks prescribed, directed and supervised by a Certified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in the implementation of services for children/students with speech, language, cognitive, voice, oral, muscular, augmentative/alternative communication disorders and hearing impairments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•  Assist the Speech/Language Pathologist by providing services for students with disabilities including screening, observations, and instruction; assists in the selection, preparation and presentation of materials, including technology for instruction and other activities.
• Implement documented intervention plans developed by a Speech/Language Pathologist and other designated personnel when implementing programming including oral, written, manual, augmentative and alternative communication techniques.
• Knowledgeable about communication disorders including fluency, voice and resonance, receptive/expressive language, and language-based learning disabilities; understand and communicate about hearing disabilities and their impact on speech/language as well as the cognitive and social aspects of communication disorders.
• Accurately collect data and maintain records in a timely manner for the purpose of student progress toward IEP goals and behavior support plans. Reports information to supervising Speech/Language Pathologist s especially when adapting instruction for student achievement in the least restrictive environment.
• Assist the Speech/Language Pathologist in the assessment or screening of students without interpretation and reports directly to the supervising Speech/Language Pathologist. Implements use of technologies including adaptive and assistive equipment that facilitates student learning.
• Understand the purpose of the IEP as it applies to the Speech/Language Pathologist Assistant assignment; demonstrates awareness of how student’s goals are driven by curriculum and district and state evaluations.
• Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job especially concerning students and their families; refer concerns expressed by families, students or others to their supervisor or licensed team member.
• Attend team meetings and other meetings as required furthering professional development, recognizing opportunities to generalize knowledge which serves to support student needs in the school environment.
• Ensure safety in all environments, practice safe work habits and personal safety; follow universal health and safety precautions. Attend to student medical needs as delegated by a Health Care Plan.
• Demonstrate ability to adapt to changes in responsibilities and work schedules by maintaining flexibility and positive, professional work ethic.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences in beliefs, traditions and values especially as they relate to students. Listen for understanding, share information appropriately and participate in problem-solving or planning activities.
• Recognize own professional limitations and perform within boundaries of training and job responsibilities.
• Assist in clerical duties as assigned by the supervising Speech/Language Pathologist including but not limited to scheduling, safety and maintenance of supplies and equipment and record keeping.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor/administrator. 

Education, Training and Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communication, Speech and Language Pathology or Communication Disorders/Speech Sciences or a Bachelor's Degree (in any major) plus 24 semester hours in speech language hearing sciences.
• Successful completion of a Speech/Language Pathology Assistant program from an institution whose program meets or exceeds recommended guidelines established by the American Speech/Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
• Posses or be eligible for a Colorado Department of Education Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Authorization.

Job Summary:
The internship in School Psychology provides school psychology graduate students with the opportunity to further their knowledge and demonstrate under conditions of appropriate supervision, the ability to apply their knowledge. The internship enables the intern to derive the fullest possible educational experience from the school setting and provides entry-level experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Confer with teachers, students and parents regarding adaptations to the classroom environment or curricula.
• Conduct appropriate psychological evaluations to determine learning, emotional, behavioral needs of children. Interpret assessment data and make recommendations for intervention. Recommend eligibility for Special Education Support and services.
• Maintain case records, test results, statistical data and summarize evaluation results in written reports prepared and available prior to IEP meetings.
• Attend pre-referral and post-placement meetings to discuss possible intervention strategies and/or to follow-up on prior team recommendations for intervention.
• Attend staff, professional and inter-agency meetings.

Education, Training and Experience:
• Possess or eligible for a Colorado Department of Education Special Services Providers License with Colorado Intern Authorization endorsement.
