Job Summary
The duties of this individual will be to direct and evaluate the learning experiences of students in both curricular and extracurricular activities.
Essential Duties
• Direct and evaluate the learning experiences of students in both curricular and extracurricular activities
• Foster effective communication with parents and/or guardians
• Cooperate with and participate in the planning, implementations, and evaluation of the total school program
• Responsible for the care and welfare of the school and student body
Other Duties
• Provide for the care and protection of school property
• Participate in professional development activities
• Maintain a current copy of the DA FORM 3126 and/or DA Forma 3126-1
• Maintain accountability of all equipment JAW AR 710-2
• Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned
Job Specifications
Responsible for carrying out the policies, rules and regulations of Horry County Schools and other responsibilities as directed by the principal.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required)
• Certification as required by US Army Cadet Command.
• Other professional and personal qualifications as deemed necessary for acceptable fulfillment of responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms; walk; sit; stoop or kneel; crouch or crawl.  
Additional physical requirements include the following:
• Physically capable of frequently lifting or moving up to 40 pounds;
• Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus;
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time;
• Manual dexterity for the purpose of using a telephone and data entry;
• Read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids;
• Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; and
• Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone.

Job Title:      JROTC Instructor – Air Force

Job Summary:  The AFJROTC instructor is responsible for developing citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community.  Further executes policies relative to the administering the AFJROTC program.

Essential Duties
• Instill the value of citizenship and service to the United Stated through the Aerospace Science Curriculum.
• Directly supervise students participating in AFJROTC events, community service, and other activities.
• Writing/updating lesson plans for the JROTC curriculum and other lesson preparation requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to sustain the diversity of the program.
• Mentoring students in the AFJROTC program.
• Lead after school and off campus activities.
 
Other Duties
• Maintaining proficiency of ongoing developments and organizations with the associated the AFJROTC program.
• Preparing and submitting periodic reports on program administration and logistics.
• Establishing rapport with school counselors and faculty members to provide maximum support to students.
• Conducting AFJROTC presentations to students at feeder schools for the purpose of recruiting new cadets into the program.
• Work with individual students to provide interventions.
 
Job Specifications
• The JROTC Instructor shall perform those duties pursuant to current regulations, policies, and procedures as established by the governing board of the branch represented and the host school.
• To execute the mission of the JROTC program.
• Perform duties, accept responsibilities, and meet standards as prescribed by applicable Department of defense (DoD), Air Force, and AFJROTC instruction.
 
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required)
• Current Certification from HQ, AFJROTC. 
• Associate's degree or Higher (REQUIRED)
• Other professional and personal qualifications as deemed necessary for acceptable fulfillment of responsibilities.
 
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements include being able to sit or stand for an extended period of time, sufficiently mobile to ensure the safety of students, speak clearly so that others may understand clearly, and hear and understand speech at normal levels.
