Function

Function

Summary
Under direction, the Accounting Specialist is a specialized class with functional knowledge in Payroll and Benefits functions and
possesses qualifications for accounting procedures. This individual must be discrete, loyal, efficient, and be able to keep in the strictest confidence the business that crosses this desk. Their work must be accurate, handling routines efficiently and effectively. This position shall be responsible for all aspects of the Accounting Department, including complete knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.  This individual plans and organizes their workload to meet deadlines, and must be able to perform highly detailed and complex accounting activities in the preparation, maintenance and processing of financial transactions, using G.A.A.P. The person occupying this position should be able to analyze and research discrepancies, make a determination of the findings, as well as analyze data and draw logical conclusions.

Responsibilities and Requirements
• Analyzes investment accounts for the purpose of issuing investing instruction to State and County agencies
• Coordinates with District staff, County Treasurer and other state and federal agencies on financial transactions for the purpose of ensuring district funds are received
• Maintains a wide variety of financial information, files and records (e.g. budget, revenues, expenditures, encumbrances, fund balances, etc.) for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance
• Monitors District accounts for the purpose of being in compliance with USFR and grant guidelines
• Participates in meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. as required for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions
• Prepares and posts budget and journal entries, prepares monthly transmittal of journal entry affects to County Treasurer for the purpose of documenting activities, providing reference, conveying information, and complying with established financial, legal and/or administrative requirements
• Assists in preparing the district’s annual financial reports, forms and other documents as necessary for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance
• Assists in preparing annual tax rate preparation form and a variety of other financial reports for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance
• Processes a wide variety of financial information (e.g. journal entries for interest, bank fees, liabilities, etc.) for the purpose of updating and distributing information, authorizing for action and/or complying with established      accounting practices
• Processes and posts (e.g. accounts payable, payroll, handwritten and void warrants) for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance
• Reconciles federal, state, county and local revenues to County Treasurer’s monthly Treasurer’s Report and posts revenue to District’s accounting system (e.g. notifies County Treasurer of any incorrectly posted revenues) for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance
• Reconciles, interprets, and maintains a variety of cash transactions for the purpose of maintaining accurate account balances and ensuring compliance with established accounting practices
• Reviews, interprets, and maintains the general ledger and financial statements for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance
• Verifies funds are available (e.g. informs site/department if additional funds are needed) for the purpose of processing accounts payable and payroll warrants
• Assists auditors for the purpose of providing supporting documentation and/or information on internal process that is required for audit
• Assists other personnel (e.g. cover absences of coworkers in business department, assists with computer training) for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities and as a support person
• Coordinates and processes year-end closing function for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance
• Develops and prepares correspondence on various topics to schools and departments for the purpose of providing information as needed
• Researches and retrieves data from files as requested (e.g. vendors, staff, schools, personnel, administrative staff and governmental agencies) for the purpose of providing needed information

Responsibilities and Requirements
• The Athletic trainer will practice said profession within the parameters of the Arizona Athletic Trainers Licensing Law as laid out by the Arizona Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners, and will follow both the Standards of the Practice and Code of Ethics as set forth by the National Athletic Trainers Association. These duties are based on the needs of the school and its athletic programs. The athletic trainer's duties, enumerated in this document, should not be considered all inclusive. The Athletic Director, as necessary, shall modify duties. The athletic trainer will be present at home athletic contests and practices and shall attend the post-season and home-hosted contests as directed by the Athletic Director.       
• Establish an effective athletic trainer program for high school athletics.
• Provide first aid and injury assessment/treatment/rehabilitation/reconditioning for Lake Havasu High School student-athletes.
• The athletic trainer will also be responsible for making appropriate physician referrals.
• Provide coverage at home events and practices from the beginning of the fall sport season to the conclusion of the spring season.
• Coordinates the annual required athletic physicals and supervises the clearance of injured athletes prior to and during the sport seasons.
• Maintain a line of communication with the team physicians{s} regarding athletic health care and recommended treatment/rehabilitation for all athletic injuries.
• Assist coaching staff in evaluating and implementing sport specific conditioning programs and methods.
• Maintain an effective and efficient athletic training room.
• Maintain communication with parents on the care and treatment of their student-athlete.
• File all necessary reports associated with athletic injuries and/or incidents.
• Maintain a daily treatment log.
• Oversee the ordering of supplies and equipment pertaining to the athletic training room and maintain an up to date inventory. Provide the Athletic Director with an annual budget for supplies and equipment.
• Equip each team with appropriate medical equipment.
• Assist in the selection and fitting of protective equipment, including special taping, pads or braces.
• Create a safe playing environment by monitoring and controlling environmental risks.
• Share professional literature relative to athletic training with the school’s coaching staff.
 
OTHER
Terms of Employment
• Ten-month position, beginning the first day of fall practices, approximately mid-July through approximately mid-May.
• The athletic trainer will work in accordance with a weekly schedule to be determined by the Athletic Director. Weekly schedules will vary according to the athletic season.

Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.  Minimum 5 years verifiable gas/diesel experience with references.  Cummins, Caterpillar experience preferred.  Blue Bird School Bus experience preferred.
 
Certificates and Licensure Requirements
Appropriate Certifications (ASE Certified Bus Mechanic)
Commercial Driver’s license (Class B) with P and S endorsements
IVP fingerprint clearance card through AZ Department of Public Safety
 
Summary
Assist in keeping district vehicles, buses and maintenance equipment in a state of operating excellence. Buses will meet DPS requirements at all times.  Perform all activities related to the Transportation Division.

• Good diagnostic skills and trouble shooting skills
• Working knowledge of trade related hazards and safety precautions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
• Ability to work effectively without direct supervision
• Good health, physical stamina, fitness, and vitality
• Personal qualities associated with good human and interpersonal relations.
Responsibilities and Requirements
• Inspections, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing mechanical defects on LHUSD#1 vehicles, buses and equipment
• Identifies the need for appropriate parts
• Assists in preventive maintenance and willing to work after hours on bus breakdowns
• Maintains proper records of time, materials, parts used for each repair, and invoices
• Maintains an up to date inventory of parts and supplies
• Proper use and maintenance of all tools and testing equipment.
• Shop area kept clean and neat.
• Performs all duties as required
• Comply with federal, state and district policies and procedures
• Responsible for working in cooperation with other school district personnel
• Practice safety and use safety equipment.
 
Physical Demands and Work Environment
• Physical dexterity and strength necessary to properly use all hand tools, air tools, floor dolly, and jacks.
• Climbs, bends, kneel, stand, and walk to perform assigned duties.                                        
• Repetitive motion and eye strain through extensive utilization of computer hardware and software.

• Operates large and small power driven machinery or equipment
• Climbs to various heights and work in confined places
