    Subsititute Bus Driver - $20.10/hr.
    *The District is willing to help bus drivers obtain certification.
     
    TEACHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Instructs classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
    • Assumes all other duties and responsibilities for a teacher during the time the teacher is absent.
    • Prepares lesson plans if instructed to do so by the building principal.
    • Maintains order in the classroom.
    • Maintains records, including but not limited to recording student grades, student assignments, projects, and other clerical work as instructed by the absent teacher.
    • Supervises students and aides.

    TEACHER PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
     
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  The employee is required to be able to hear conversations in quiet environments.
     
    CUSTODIAN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and waxes floors.
    • Vacuums rugs and carpets.
    • Dusts, waxes, washes, and polishes furniture and woodwork.
    • Cleans restrooms, replenishes supplies, and fills dispensers.
    • May water lawn, trees, and shrubs in the absence of grounds personnel.
    • Maintains areas adjacent to buildings in clean, safe, and sanitary condition.
    • Washes windows, walls, sinks, and fountains.
    • Arranges furniture and equipment for special activities.
    • Observes and reports need for repairs and makes minor repairs as time permits.
    • Secures buildings at end of shift.
    • Picks up trash and litter and empties and cleans trash and garbage receptacles.
    • Does emergency cleanup resulting from vandalism, breakage, spillage, or illness.
    • Stacks, assembles, and stores furniture, equipment, and supplies.
    • Cleans chalkboards and trays.
    • Is responsible for reporting unruly student activities, loitering, vandalism, or similar situations.
    • Performs routine nontechnical maintenance duties with the use of household hand tools.
    • May prepare and paint interior and exterior walls.
    • Orders, receives, stores, and distributes supplies.

     CUSTODIAN PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
     
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, travel from one building to another, push heavy equipment, twist at neck and waist, reach, kneel.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  May be required to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
     
    KITCHEN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Assists in the preparation and serving of all food in the cafeteria.
    • Responsible for head cook duties in the absence of the head cook.
    • Assists in cleaning the kitchen and cafeteria.
    • Assists in the disposal and storage of unused food.

    KITCHEN PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
     
    The employee is frequently required to walk and continuously required to stand.  The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and waist while performing the duties of this position.  The employee will occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
     
    OFFICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Performs a wide variety of clerical and secretarial work, including typing, proofreading, filing, and checking and recording information.
    • Serves as receptionist and gives information or directs visitors to proper office.
    • Answers inquiries concerning standardized policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Receives, sorts, and distributes mail and office correspondence.
    • Screens incoming correspondence routed to supervisor.
    • Arranges correspondence for supervisor’s personal reply in order of priority, with appropriate background material attached for reference.
    • Types routine memoranda and correspondence from general instructions.
    • Types reports, records, and other materials.
    • Takes and transcribes dictation for letters, memos, and reports.
    • Attends meetings and conferences as requested.
    • Sorts, indexes, and files materials alphabetically, numerically, and by other predetermined categories.
    • Compiles information and prepares reports.
    • May prepare material for Board agenda.
    • Dictates, collates, and assembles materials for distribution.

    BUS DRIVER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Drives school bus or transportation vehicle over assigned route in accordance with time schedule.
    • Boards and discharges student passengers in a safe and orderly manner.
    • Transports students, staff, and chaperones on field trips, athletic activities, and other special trips.
    • Enforces District policies and procedures related to transportation and maintains discipline on buses.
    • Prepares student discipline citations as needed.
    • Prepares daily reports of mileage, time, and student loads.
    • Maintains bus cleanliness on a daily basis, including washing, as needed.
    • Performs minor bus maintenance checks and reports maintenance needs.
    • Renders first aid or emergency assistance as needed.
    • May transport other materials in District vehicles.
    • Services buses with gas and oil and checks tires, battery, and belts.
    • Maintains good order among students on buses, following District policies regarding discipline of children and contact with parents and other citizens.
    • Instructs students and others on proper bus behavior and emergency procedures.
    • During times buses are not in use, may be assigned to general maintenance and cleanup activities in the transportation department.
    • Ensures compliance with applicable provisions of state motor vehicle code and education code, as related to bus driving and transporting students.

    BUS DRIVER PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
     
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  The employee is required to be able to hear conversations in quiet environments.  May be required to lift or carry up to 30 pounds.
