Haddonfield School District is seeking to hire staff for our Extended School Year (ESY) program which runs from July 1, 2025 - July 31, 2025. The student population for the summer program is pre-k through eleventh grade. Haddonfield School District’s mission is to provide a high quality educational program for all students. The District is seeking to hire:
(1) Special Education Teacher
Hours: July 1- July 31 (Monday- Thursday) Friday off
8:15 AM- 11:45 AM; plus 6 hours of preparation/room set-up
(1) Special Education Reading Teacher (who has knowledge of reading programs such as Sonday/Wilson)
Hours: Flexible upon need
July- August
Qualifications for Special Education Teacher:
Must hold Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification. The Special Education Teachers will provide specialized instruction to students with an IEP. The Special Education Teacher will carry out daily activities during ESY. Candidates must have work experience with students with special needs to be hired for a position. The caseload will be approximately 12-15 students for each classroom. Work will happen in small groups and 1-on-1. Work will be to address goals outlined on the ESY plan of their IEP. Will work with teaching teams and therapists for the successful implementation of ESY.
Duties and Responsibilities for Special Education Teacher:
Plan and maintain a program of instruction that is conducive to the attainment of individual students' ESY goals and objectives on their IEP.
Apply appropriate strategies to educate students with special needs, in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Develop and nurture the emotional, cognitive and social abilities of the students.
Interact with students in a polite, caring and respectful manner.
Respond to student misbehavior appropriately and successfully.
Demonstrate clear and accurate oral and written communication.
Engage students in learning
Monitor student progress toward achievement of instructional goals and write the end of ESY progress reports.
Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
Work cooperatively with staff, students and parents.
