General Job Description: The Director of College, Career, and Civic Readiness (CCCR) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing career, technical, and pathway education programs and services for Gallup-McKinley County Schools (GMCS). The Director will provide leadership in curriculum development and maintenance for all GMCS CCCR programs, ensuring the curriculum meets state-approved standards. The Director is knowledgeable of New Mexico CTE program development, implementation, and reporting requirements. The Director will develop and implement professional development to ensure that CTE, pathway, and district teachers stay current on the latest changes at the state and federal levels and will assist teachers as they strive to improve their curriculum and instruction delivery. The Director serves as a resource to district administrators, the board of education, businesses, agencies, and non-profit organizations. The Director will provide additional support and leadership in various district and county projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following:- Assist the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment in developing instructional policies and procedures aligned with the College, Career, and Civic Readiness (CCCR) goals.
- Responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering college, career, and civic readiness education and programming for Gallup-McKinley County Schools.
- The Director will provide leadership to administration and teachers to ensure curriculum meets standards.
- Responsible for programming and financial decisions within the CCCR department.
- Responsible for developing and managing the CCCR budget.
- Provides leadership to department administration and staff to develop new programs and completes state-required annual reviews.
- Coordinates the preparation, documentation, and delivery of all grants, forms, and reports as required by the New Mexico Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Education.
- Supervises, evaluates, and coordinates work for staff in the assigned area.
- Establishes staff’s work timeliness and communicates project status to the Assistant Superintendent and other administrators.
- Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others.
- Serves as the primary liaison between business and industry and CCCR programs.
- Responsible for coordinating work-based learning for CTE students.
- Identifies and works with consultants and/or organizations to ensure the continuous development of the CCCR programs.

Qualifications: - Master’s degree preferred.
- Ability to obtain New Mexico administrative license as required by the State of New Mexico.
- Prefer experience in career and technical education courses for administration, supervision and organization of career and technical education programs.
- Three – five years’ experience in administration and supervision in career or industry education preferred.
- Must be able to pass employment verification.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the job and access the environment for which you are hired. The following may be required: Sitting, standing, lifting, moving about the room or school, carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, prolonged typing, physical ability to type on a keyboard terminal, and moving light furniture. Position requires that the applicant have the capability to drive long distances on a weekly basis in a school vehicle.
Equipment/Technology Handled: Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.
Work Environment: Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hour work may be required.
Terms of Employment: Salary and work calendar established yearly by the district.
All GMCS schools are eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF).Gallup-McKinley County Schools: 2025-2026 SY Incentives
Relocation Expenses for New Teachers, SPED Teachers & Counselors
300+ miles: $3,000
Relocation incentive for all new teachers, counselors and administrators will be paid in full on the first paycheck of the school year.
All other incentives for teachers and counselors will be paid out over the course of two school years in four installments. Payment will be made ¼ in December of the first contract year, ¼ in May of the first contract year, ¼ in December of the second contract year and ¼ in May of the second contract year. The incentive will be prorated for hires made after the official work calendar start date but prior to December 31, 2025. Any hires made on or after December 31, 2025, will not be eligible to receive the signing incentives listed above. Failure to complete the terms of the employment contract in either/both of the two school years will result in the forfeiture of the entire signing incentive and relocation incentive. Signing Incentives are effective February 3, 2025.
Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for the signing incentives, you must be a new employee who was not employed in any position or certified capacity by GMCS during the 2024-2025 school year. For the relocation incentive, you cannot have received a relocation incentive within the last two (2) years to qualify for the Relocation Incentive for SY 25-26.
