Performance Responsibilities
Responsible for providing support to the food service activities at assigned location with specified responsibilities for preparing and serving food items to students and/or school personnel and maintaining food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition.

Essential Tasks

Cleans linens, utensils, equipment and storage, food preparation and serving areas for the purpose of maintaining required sanitary conditions.
Evaluates prepared food for flavor, appearance and temperature for the purpose of providing items that will be accepted by students and staff.
Inspects food items and/or supplies for the purpose of verifying quantity, quality and specifications or orders and/or complying with mandated health standards.
Inventories food, condiments and supplies for the purpose of ensuring availability of items required for meeting projected menu requirements.
Maintains records and reports (e.g.counting and recording the amount of leftovers, number of opened cans, student lunch balances, collection and rconciliation of money, informing students of their lunch balances, etc.) for the purpose of keeping an accurate record of food used and student accounts.
Merchandise food and beverage items.
Monitors kitchen and cafeteria areas to ensure a safe and sanitary working environment.
Assists with the preparation, cooking and serving of food.
Performs functions of other nutritional service positions as requested by manager.
Prepares food and beverage items according to standardized recipes and established food preparation procedures.
Serves appropriate serving sizes of food items according to the planned menu.
Receives food items and/or supplies and places them in designate areas utilizing temperature requirements for food spoilage guidelines.
Reports needed supplies and equipment malfunctions.
Perform related work as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The successful candidate is required to perform basic math; read and follow instructions and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of job include: safety and sanitation practices and procedures; and quantity food preparation and handling. Flexibility is required to work with others; work with specific, job-related data and utilize job-related equipment. Candidate must be able to work as part of a team, speak to convey/exchange information, handle a variety of items and work with interruptions

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: significant heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 5% sitting, 50% walking and 45% standing. The job is performed under temperature extremes and under conditions with exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.

REQUIREMENTS

Completion of 6 hours if 20+ hours/week of 4 hours if <20 hours/week of professional development annually.

Performance Responsibilities
Associate teachers work under the supervision of the lead teacher to assist with planning and implementing an age and developmentally appropriate curriculum for children up to approximately five years of age.

Assists in planning, scheduling and implementing the daily program of appropriate developmental experiences
Assists in maintaining a clean, safe and healthy environment.
Assist with ensuring compliance of all childcare center requirements as a Legally Licensed Exempt Provider (LLEP)
Assist with keeping current and accurate record of all information necessary to comply with the requirements of a LLEP.
Maintain required forms and records.
Work with team members, volunteers and guests in the program.
Assists with preparation of lessons for children according to age, developmental maturity and learning needs, while including fundamental vocabulary, simple shapes, basic colors, letters and numbers into the curriculum.
Help children with basic needs such as diaper changing, feeding, etc.
Help children meet educational milestones through personalized instruction and other supplemental assistance.
Address basic interpersonal skills such as sharing, taking turns and asking permission in the classroom.
Manage busy classroom environments and provide the structure and discipline required for successful learning for all children.
Provide helpful feedback to parents and guardians on a regular or as-needed basis.
Complete continuing education hours per State requirements.
Maintain a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere for staff and children.

Position Summary
Bus drivers are responsible for operating a school bus and transporting school-aged children and other authorized personnelsafelyandefficientlyoverspecifiedroutestoandfromschoolsandvariousactivities. Positionconducts pre-trip inspections; observes safety regulations and policies; enforces student discipline on the bus; and performs related work.

Essential Duties

Communicates with the Transportation Director for any changes in normal duties or new student passengers, including communicating orally while the bus is in motion when needed.
Ensures the bus can be operated safely before driving and conducts pre-trip safety inspections as required by federal and state laws to include observing visual defects and checking operating systems to include brakes, horn, lights, emergency flashers, extended stop arms, and door-opening devices.
Operates the vehicle safely over an assigned route, picking up and delivering only authorized students at assigned bus stops, and watches to ensure that no one hurrying for the bus is left behind.
Keeps assigned time schedules, which may require driving during pre-day light and dusk periods, and makes every effort to be on time while ensuring safety.
Obeys all traffic laws and transportation practices as outlined in the CDL manual, School Board Policy and local ordinances.
Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses and keeps all emergency exits clear of obstructions.
Secures wheelchairs, car seats, and other restraining devices on the bus as needed.
Maintains student discipline on the bus and enforces rules governing student conduct, including through oral communication when the bus is in motion.
Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority and compiles written reports as requested.
Conducts semi-annual bus evacuation drills as required by the Department of Education and implements evacuations as required in an emergency to include safely exiting from the rear of the school bus.
Reports all accidents immediately, requesting police or ambulance service as needed; assists injured persons until services arrive; and completes required accident reports.
Notifies the proper authority in cases of mechanical failure, safety deficiencies, when off schedule, or other incidents.
Regulates heating, cooling, and ventilating equipment provided on the bus for the comfort of passengers.
Drives students and teachers on field trips, extracurricular activities, and other special events, often in evenings and at night, as assigned.
Exercises responsible leadership and appropriate behavior when on out-of-division school trips.
Returns the bus to the assigned bus lot, performs a final inspection, and secures the bus according to procedures.
Participates in all required training.
Submits to drug and alcohol testing when required.
Maintains a commercial driver’s license as required by the State Department of Transportation and maintains a current Indiana Yellow Card.
Hear and communicate orally when the bus is in motion. Communicate orally on a two-way radio with transportation dispatch and emergency services while the bus is in motion. Communicate effectively and positively with parents, students, staff and co-workers.
Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
Any other instructions and duties as assigned by the Transportation Director or other appropriate administrator.

Other Duties

Keeps the assigned bus clean.
Maintains an assigned seating chart.
Reports all safety violations to include co-workers/personnel suspected of drinking alcohol or under the influence of drugs (to include over-the-counter drugs) while working.
Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Transportation Director or other appropriate administrator

Qualifications

Obtain PPC/Title 20 Physical and CDL
Pass school bus driver physical performanc standards and measures
Complete 3-Day Pre-Certification Bus Training Session
Complete 4 hours of bus observation of a certified driver and 8 hours behind the wheel supervised by a certified driver.
Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
Apply for, hold and maintain a valid Indiana Yellow Card.

Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist certified professional staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives, and to free certified professional employees from non-professional duties to enable them to make a contribution to other aspects of the educational program, such as curriculum development.

Essential Job Functions

Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.

Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.

Assists professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.

Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.

Assists with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.

Assists with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure students are on task.

Assists students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, corridor, study hall, and other related non-instructional areas.

Accompanies students on field trips for the purpose of assisting with supervision.

Constructs, copies and distribute and use educational materials as needed.

Assists teacher with parent contact as requested to foster effective and participatory parent involvement in student education.

Assists students with special needs in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion, learning, achievement if IEP objectives, etc.

Participates in IEP process and serves as resource for the student personnel evaluation team as needed.

Assist students with physical or mental disabilities with activities of daily living for the purpose of maximizing their ability to participate in school or learning activities.

Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.

Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Successful completion of college level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act for schools requiring Highly Qualified Status for paraprofessionals.
