Job Summary
Greene County is seeking a dedicated and passionate Head Wrestling Coach to lead our wrestling program. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with excellent organizational and communication skills, committed to developing student-athletes of all skill levels while upholding the values of integrity, character, and sportsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Organize, plan, and oversee all aspects of the wrestling program, including practices, competitions, and athlete development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, discipline, and academic success.
- Work collaboratively within the athletic department to promote the overall success of the school’s activities program
- Work collaboratively with our Strength and Conditioning Cooridinator for in season and out of season workouts.
- Engage with and support the youth wrestling program to develop future student-athletes.
- Effectively communicate with athletes, parents, school administrators, and community stakeholders.
- Adhere to all school, district, and state athletic association policies and guidelines.
- Mentor student-athletes, emphasizing personal growth, responsibility, and leadership on and off the mat.
- Develop and implement training programs that accommodate various skill levels and encourage continuous improvement.
- Maintain the program’s integrity by ensuring compliance with all eligibility, safety, and competition regulations.
- Coordinate fundraising, community outreach, and program development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Previous wrestling coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or higher.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within the athletic department and school community.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of integrity, respect, and character development.
- Knowledge of current wrestling techniques, strategies, and training methods.
- Must meet all certification and training requirements set forth by the school and athletic association.
