Jump Start Coordinator Job Description
2024-25 FY

Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate, develop, implement and monitor Jump Stat Migrant Education Summer Program.
• Prepare Jump Start theme with instructional services aligned with state standards
• Recruit and supervise certified and classified employees
• Responsible for timely submission of PAR’s, and employee timesheets.
• Prepare and provide Professional Development for Jump Start teachers.
• Prepare list of student supplies for Jump Start.
• Recruit priority for service (PFS) migratory students to participate in Jump Start.
• Complete PFS forms for all migratory students participating in Jump Start.
• Prepare personnel action requests (PAR) Forms for all employees: teachers, custodians, security guard, bus drivers, bus monitors, health assistant.
• Prepare requisitions for school supplies.
• Prepare flyer to post at all schools
• Coordinate with all departments involved with Jump Start: technology, transportation, food service, and maintenance. 
• Prepare accurate student information identification tags.
• Compose enrollment form for migratory students
• Contact migratory students from all schools and invite them to join Jump Start
• Prepare pre and post assessment tool for Jump Start
• Prepare PHLOTE forms for all students in attendance
• Submit instructional/support codes to migrant assistants to upload into MIS2000
• Responsible for reporting accurate attendance records for students and personnel
• Responsible for completing state required assessment forms for summer school including pre and post test scores for all student participating in Jump Start
 
Experience: Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
Certificates and Licenses: Teaching Credential, IVP Finger Print Clearance Card.

Essential Functions
• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives.
• Administers classroom assignments, tests, homework assignments, make-up work, etc. for the purpose of supporting teachers in the instructional process.
• Assists students, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments (e.g. read stories, listen to students read, providing writing assistance, reinforce English lessons, provide spelling practice, facilitate activities, computer learning programs, etc.) for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing learning concepts and assisting students in reaching academic goals and grade level standards.
• Implements, under the supervision of assigned teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
• Maintains manual and electronic files and records (e.g. student data, assessments, etc.) for the purpose of providing written reference and/or meeting mandated requirements.
• Monitors individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g. classroom, playground, cafeteria, arrival/departure, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
• Responds to emergency situations (e.g. injured student, fights, etc.) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
• Supports classroom teachers and other school personnel for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of curriculum and teaching methodologies.
 
Experience: Job related experience is required.
Education: Community college and/or vocational school degree with study in job-related area.
Equivalency: 60 hours of verifiable college credit hours from an accredited institution of higher learning or Para Pro exam.
Clearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance, IVP (Identity Verified Print) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Salary: $15.30- $15.77 /HR
