Job Title: HVAC Filters Technician
Reports to: Lead HVAC Filters Technician
Dept/School: Maintenance
Work Year: 250 days
Base Salary: Actual salary will be calculated based on experience.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under general supervision, perform general maintenance and replace filters throughout the district. Assist with the maintenance of HVAC equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma/GED
Valid Texas Driver License and driving record that is insurable with FISD insurance carrier
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair procedures
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally)
Ability to use hand and power tools
Ability to work independently
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in general building maintenance
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Assist skilled workers with repair and maintenance of district facilities, including repairing HVAC and motors; repairing, and replacing filter grills and condensate leaks and replacing ceiling tiles.
Perform maintenance on HVAC equipment.
Operate light truck to transport filters and HVAC equipment throughout district.
Operate equipment and use tools following established safety procedures.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
Correct unsafe conditions in the area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisor immediately.
Maintain tools and equipment and perform preventive maintenance as required.
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:

Continual walking and standing; frequent heavy lifting and carrying; climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and odors. Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. Work around moving objects or vehicles.
