    Position: Part-Time Culinary Arts Teacher and Work-Based Learning Coordinator
    Location: Shoshoni Schools

    We are seeking a dynamic educator to serve in a dual role as Culinary Arts Teacher (3.5 periods including planning) and Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator (1 period). This unique opportunity combines classroom-based culinary instruction with the coordination of real-world work experiences for students. The ideal candidate will have a background in culinary arts and a passion for helping students build career pathways through hands-on learning and industry connections. 

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    As Culinary Arts Teacher:

     
    • Develop and implement a culinary arts curriculum aligned with state and national standards.

    • Teach students fundamental and advanced culinary techniques, nutrition, sanitation, and safety.

    • Plan and supervise practical kitchen labs and classroom activities.

    • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback.

    • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized kitchen and classroom environment.

    • Integrate employability and career readiness skills into lessons.

    • Organize and support extracurricular culinary events and competitions.

    • Participate in ongoing professional development.

     

    As Work-Based Learning Coordinator:

     
    • Identify and establish partnerships with local businesses to secure student job placements.

    • Conduct regular site visits to monitor student progress, safety, and employer satisfaction.

    • Serve as a liaison between students, parents, employers, and school staff.

    • Assist students with job applications, resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace skills.

    • Track student attendance, hours worked, and performance outcomes.

    • Address and resolve any issues related to student placements.

    • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on program effectiveness.

    • Promote the WBL program to students, families, and community stakeholders.

     

    Qualifications

     
    • PTSB certificate for both Culinary Arts and WBL

    • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

    • Experience in culinary education and/or student career development preferred

    • Clean driving record and ability to travel with the students

    • Must pass a background check
       

    Base Salary: $30,560 (Out-of-state teaching experience from accredited schools accepted)
    Benefits: This is a part-time non-benefitted position

    This position will close on Wednesday, May 7th and interviews on Monday, May 12th.
