This is a grant-funded position and is contingent on availability of funds. Position Purpose Conducts orientation/assessment, appropriate leveled instruction; maintains documentation, reporting, student recruitment and retention activities; participates in staff and professional development activities.
Essential Functions - Develop and maintain an individualized prescriptive lesson plan based upon formal assessment and student goals using instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needs. Instruction must produce educational improvements for all assigned students as measured by student baseline/progress testing. Conducts any and all activities necessary to secure progress tests for all students after 60 hours of instruction, or prior to 60 hours of instruction with appropriate supervisory approval.
- Conducts any and all activities necessary to meet and surpass all Target Performance Measures and Indicators of Program Quality (IPQ’s) as defined by Workforce Commission.
- Submits all required documentation and reports in accordance with program guidelines: student-related (attendance reports, assessment, counseling notes, etc. and all staff-related (timesheets, professional development forms, end of year, etc.)
- Maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres to Fort Worth ISD policies, procedures, and regulations; keeps immediate supervisor well-informed of activities, results of efforts, problems identified/potential problems, etc.; recommends corrective actions to immediate supervisor
- Attends all required meetings, seminars, workshops, staff development trainings, etc.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
- ”Other duties as assigned” may include working in supplemental assignments under special revenue funds or state compensatory education funds.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, Masters degree preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly with individuals from diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students, staff, and community.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and climb stairs. The employee must maintain emotional control under stress, and occasionally work prolonged and/or irregular hours. The employee must exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The work environment is a standard office setting including standard office equipment (fax, copier, phone, computer, 10-key, etc.). Ninety percent indoors, ten percent outdoors; controlled environment; exposed to weather elements, extreme heat/cold, noise and dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
