The Festus School District is currently seeking qualified applications for the position of:
Evening Custodian Supervisor


Qualifications:          Minimum of HS Diploma.  Custodial and Leadership experience preferred.

Rate of Pay:              $16.00 per hour minimum.  Pay rate dependent upon prior experience. 

Hours:                       2:30pm - 11:00pm Monday – Friday

Reports to:                 Director of Custodial and Maintenance
 
Supervises:                 Evening custodial staff
 
Summary:                  Shall be qualified in the aspects of building cleaning and sanitation.  Shall have leadership and organizational skills and experience.
 
Position Goal:            Oversee the evening custodians of the Festus R-VI School District in a safe, effective, efficient, attractive manner, and in compliance with all city, state and federal codes.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervises & evaluates all evening custodial employees.
• Provides training for evening custodians
• Assists with coordinating schedules for evening custodial staff, including extra-curricular activities.
• Assist with facility usage.
• Assist with ordering materials and supplies for custodial staff.
• Survey facilities for safety and maintenance repairs.
• Keep abreast of codes and standards for facilities.
• Keep staff notified of safety and code changes.
• Assists in emergency situations.
• Checks all facilities periodically and especially in extreme weather conditions.
• Other duties as outlined by Director of Custodial and Maintenance.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:  Supervises evening custodial staff. Is responsible for the overall direct coordination, including training employees; planning, assigning, and directing, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
 
Education and/or Experience:  Custodial and Leadership experience is preferred. 
 
Evaluation:  Performance of this job will be evaluated annually and in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Non-Certified Personnel.

Terms of Employment:  Twelve-month year.  Salary to be established by the Board and will be based on education, experience, and skills

• Assists with storage and reuse of unused food.
• Other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager.

Bus Mechanic


 
Qualifications:          Minimum of HS Diploma. Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class B, School Bus Endorsement (S), and Passenger Endorsement (P). This classification of driver license will qualify this person to drive a school bus/vehicle weight over 26,001 pounds and transport students if needed.
 
Experience:              Repair and preventative maintenance of heavy equipment. Repair and preventative maintenance of school buses and other motor vehicles preferred. 
 
Position Goal:          Maintain the Festus R-VI Transportation Fleet, providing a safe and efficient means to transport students to and from school.
 
Rate of Pay:              $26.00 per hour minimum.  Pay rate dependent upon prior experience & education.  Benefits included (Retirement, Health & Dental Insurance)

Essential Duties:
• Plan and implement a program of scheduled preventative maintenance of the district bus fleet.
• Perform mechanical repairs on buses to include major overhauls if directed, as necessary.
• Make emergency service calls for stranded buses or other district equipment.
• Make recommendations to the supervisor for ordering and stocking all necessary repair parts and supplies.
• Maintain the shop area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
• Assist in the service and repair of other district motor vehicles and equipment as needed.
• Maintain, repair, and inspect tires and rims, and maintain records of district vehicles.
• Perform complete safety inspections as required.
• Estimate time, material, and equipment needed for assigned jobs.
