    Abstract
    To assist in maximizing student learning by helping to meet the personal and academic needs of each student under the direction of classroom teacher(s).
     
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Assists in implementing set lesson plans in all academic areas as directed by classroom teacher(s) in individual, small and large group settings on a daily basis.
    • Assists in the supervision and classroom management of all students as directed by the classroom teacher(s) at all times during the school day.
    • Assists the teacher(s) in preparing the classroom, materials, and equipment for use in specific instructional programs on a daily basis.
    • Maintains confidentiality of all information concerning students, staff and/or parent/guardian in any public setting and chooses the appropriate time, place and supervisor to discuss issues or concerns.
    • Uses positive verbal and non-verbal communication and interaction skills when working with students, parents, and all district personnel at all times.
    • Is proficient with Microsoft Office and demonstrates overall computer literacy.
    • Assists administrative staff in fulfilling professional duties.
    • Attend professional development with certified staff as needed.
    • Performs any other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus associates degree or higher degree. If applicant does not possess an Associate Degree or higher, they must take the ParaPro Praxis Assessment and score a minimum of 462.  Advanced training in education helpful, with college degree in education preferable.
     
     
     
    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
     
    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
     
    REASONING ABILITY
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
     
    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
    Valid Wyoming Driver’s License
    Wyoming PTSB Substitute Certification

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    8:00 am to 4:00 pm, 185 days, classified salary schedule

    Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of classified personnel.
