Christian Philosophy & Religion Courses Life and Philosophy of Christ (Grade 9)
This course studies the life and doctrines of Jesus of Nazareth. His actions and teachings, as told in the four biographies written about him (the Gospels contained in the Christian scriptures), give us a clear and holistic understanding of Jesus’s view of himself and the world. Jesus claims to be the Christ, or God and proves his claim through His life, death and resurrection. This course is designed to teach students that Jesis Christ is the Messiah from the Old Testament.
Comparative Religions (Grade 10)
This is a study of the major religions of the world to include Judaism, Islam, and Buddhism. Students will compare and contrast the religious doctrines of these world religions against the doctrines and principles of Christianity.
Progress and Redemption (Grade 11)
A study of God’s plan as it progressively unfolds in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. The historical narrative of God’s words and actions in the scriptures. Students will be introduced to the redemptive nature of God, and his relationship with Israel and humanity
Ethics and Culture (Grade 12)
In this course, students will learn about different ethical theories such as: Deontological Ethics, Teleological Ethics, Ethical Egoism, and Moral Relativism. Students will learn strategies to confront ethical dilemmas and make tough choices. Students will also consider issues such as: abortion, euthanasia, drinking alcohol, sexual ethics, the environment, capital punishment, and war. Students will learn that Jesus Christ is not only active throughout our culture, but culture is also actively longing for a savior. Basic elements of the Gospel of Jesus Christ are evident everywhere in our culture, and students will learn how to recognize these elements in cultural artifacts and reect on them. Students will learn to engage culture critically and analytically, from a Christian perspective. They will also learn why people create culture and how Christians should do it well and often.
High School Classroom Teacher (Grades 9-12) Position Purpose Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing FBS approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
- Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Develops and administers school high school curriculum consistent with school goals and objectives.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
- Teaches all required subject matters as assigned to the grade level, which may including reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health, physical education, and music to pupils in a classroom, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education, and other appropriate learning activities NCLB?
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual small group instruction as needed.
- Instructs students in the principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the FBS.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by FBS procedures and applicable laws.
- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school policies, and establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Coordinates with other high school professional staff members, especially within grade level and specific subjects, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
- Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
- Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation.
- Administers standardized tests in accordance with FBS testing programs.
Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Head of School.

Qualifications Profile - Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
Education - Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education or discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
- Masters Degree preferred.
Experience Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
