QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified or eligible for certification from the Georgia PSC
Ability to work with administrators, faculty and staff, students, parents/guardians and the general public
Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of tasks assigned
Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
JOB GOAL: To provide instruction aligned to the appropriate standards that will lead to student achievement and success.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interact in a professional manner and abide by the Educator’s Code of Ethics.
Communicate with parents/guardians and students about achievement, expectations, behavior, and upcoming events.
Maintain confidentiality of students and students’ records.
Work cooperatively with school administrators, special support personnel, colleagues, and parents.
Comply with school, system, and state administrative regulations and Board of Education policies.
Conduct assigned classes at the times scheduled using the adopted standards as the instructional basis for lessons.
Appropriately enforce rules related to student conduct and discipline.
Provide adequate information, plans and materials for substitute teachers.
Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records.
Attend and participate in faculty meetings and other school related events or activities.
Model correct use of language, oral and written.
Demonstrate accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content.
Maintain certification.
Maintain lesson plans as required by school policy.
Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students.
Take precautions to protect records, equipment, materials and facilities.
Perform other duties as needed and assigned by the principal or designee.
