    Salary:                     $89,989.62 (Step 1/Year 1)  - $101,284.11 (Step 5/Year 5)      
      
    SUMMARY:  This position provides Business Manager Services to contracted local school districts covering all aspects of business office operations, including budget preparation, fiscal reporting and other areas of school district finance.  Also, responding to district inquires related to the processing of fiscal information, audit needs, and compliance needs.
     
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Prepare and assemble annual financial and personnel report for assigned school districts.
    • Prepare and assemble annual budget documents for assigned school districts.
    • Research and respond to local school districts’ financial questions.
    • Provide technical assistance and assemble district financial data.
    • Attend district board meetings and present financial information.
    • Assist in training district personnel about budgeting, financial reporting and personnel reporting.
    • Review or prepare accounts payable, payroll and other business office functions.  Ensure records are maintained for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and complying with mandated requirements.
    • Review bank reconciliations.
    • Prepare or review grant claims and district invoices.
    • Input and post transactions and journal entries to ledgers.
    • Monitor fund balance and related financial activity for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, fiscal practices are followed, and revenues are maximized.
    • Develop or review procedures for internal controls for the purpose of maintaining accurate records and complying with mandated requirements.
    • Advise district personnel on procedures, processes, and program requirements for the purpose of providing information and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, policies and procedures.
    • Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective team.
    • Follow all applicable board policies.
    • Maintain confidentiality.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
     
    • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, public administration, or accounting preferred.
    • A minimum of five years’ experience in government or school accounting
    • Experience in data processing and accounting.
    • Experience and knowledge with school district financial software’s preferred.
    • High commitment to task accomplishment and flexibility in work hours.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people.
    • Personal transportation and willingness to travel.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.

    WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 5% walking, and 15% standing. The job is performed under a generally hazard free environment.
     
    Hazards:  Those present in a normal office environment; no known significant hazards.
