11. | Processes legal complaints with the prosecutor’s office when truancy persists. Represents school districts at hearings. Prepares and provides detailed testimony. |
12. | Prepares a written report describing recommendations and/or resolutions related to each truancy action undertaken. |
13. | Administers appropriate discipline for unexcused tardiness/absences, class cuts, leaving unexcused, and not serving attendance related detentions. |
14. | Performs data-entry activities related to attendance-related discipline. |
15. | Develops and maintains motivational programs to improve attendance. |
16. | Reviews and interprets custody rulings. Helps building administrators resolve jurisdiction issues. Assists the treasurer with the collection of tuition based on custody assignment. |
17. | Takes precautions to ensure safety. Watches for conduct/situations that may indicate a problem. Works with supervisors to manage or eliminate risk factors. |
18. | Investigates hardship, neglect, and suspected child abuse cases. Initiates referrals to community resources (e.g., legal, health, welfare, etc.). Serves as a contact for community authorities. |
19. | Maintains complete and accurate records. Submits required paperwork on time. |
