Year-Round Position
Salary Range: $143,043 - $150,641 (Per Contract)
Characteristics unique to the position: Certified as administrator/supervisor with 092 endorsement; Master’s degree required;
Five years of teaching experience and experience as an administrator preferred; Such alternatives to the above qualification
as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

TITLE: Assistant Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Certified as administrator/supervisor (092).
2. Master’s degree required.
3. Five years of teaching experience.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find
appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Principal.
SUPERVISES: Supervises staff as designated by Principal.
JOB GOAL:
To assist the Principal in providing school-wide leadership and to learn the role of the Principal.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists the Principal in the overall administration of the school.
2. Serves as a principal in the absence of the regular Principal.
3. Proposes schedules of classes and extracurricular activities.
4. Supervises the preparation of student schedules.
5. Works with Department Heads and faculty in compiling the annual budget requests.
6. Requisitions supplies, textbooks, and equipment, conducts inventories; maintains records; and checks on receipts for such material.
7. Assists in safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
8. Assumes responsibility for coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.
9. Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and works with the attendance supervisor for investigative follow-up actions.
10. Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body, and deals with special cases as necessary.
11. Serves with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
12. Administers the student insurance program.
13. Performs such record-keeping functions as the Principal may direct.
14. Supervises teachers and departments as assigned by the Principal.
15. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Principal may from time to time assign.
16. Provides for adequate inventories of school property and for the security and accountability for that property.
17. Supervises all activities and programs that are outgrowths of the school’s curriculum.
18. Supervises and evaluates the school’s extracurricular program.
19. Participates in Principals’ meetings negotiations meetings, and such other meetings as are required or appropriate.
20. Serves as an ex-officio member of all committees and councils within the school.
21. Cooperates with college and university officials regarding teacher training and preparation.
22. Responds to written and oral requests for information.
23. Assumes responsibility for all official school correspondence and news releases.
24. Acts as liaison between thee school and the community, interpreting activities and policies of the school and encouraging community participation in school life.
25. Serves as a member of such committees and attends such meetings as directed by the Superintendent or Principal.
26. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year to be established by the EHEASU contract.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education’s policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
