Coordinator of Information Systems
 
The position of a Coordinator of Information Systems is available immediately at East Central ISD for the 2024-2025 school year. POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE:  Coordinate the collection and reporting of district Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data.  Coordinates the use of student information software and gradebook.  

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Coordinate the collection, integration, and formatting of all data required for PEIMS submission according to Texas Education Agency PEIMS Data Standards.
2. Coordinate the completion and accuracy of PEIMS data in Texas Education Agency (TEA)-prescribed format to education service center (ESC) for processing
3. Work cooperatively with campuses, business office, personnel office, and curriculum & instruction staff to collect, organize, and format data required to submit district PEIMS data according to prescribed state and federal deadlines.
4. Coordinate the department to run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information. Distribute edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction.
5. Coordinate with the department to verify data submitted to TEA and submit corrections in a timely manner.
6. Provide training and support to campuses and to business, personnel, and curriculum & instruction office staff responsible for processing PEIMS data.
7. Receive PEIMS-related information from ESC and TEA, attend all regional PEIMS workshops, and disseminate information to other staff in a timely manner, including updates to PEIMS Data Standards.
8. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
9. Coordinates and manages activity associated with student attendance for the district to include online registrations as well as requests for permanent records.
10. Collaborate with Region 13 on the Ascender (student and business) software to ensure a strong professional relationship and unity with the District. 
11. Coordinates student scheduling and verifies PEIMS numbers for new courses.
12. Serves as coordinator for TeacherPortal and ParentPortal and the use of Standards-Based Grading in TeacherPortal.
13. Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer for PEIMS and attendance submission.  
14. Leads district effort to respond to data submission audits and or audit inquired from TEA or related entities.
15. Supervise the PEIMS Administrator, District Attendance/PEIMS Clerk, and Information Systems department part-time staff.
16. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.

POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE:   Responsible for on-site leadership of campus child nutrition operations behind school Cafeteria Manager.  Helps ensure that appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served.  Meet time constraints set by menu requirements established by Central Office administration and Cafeteria Manager.  Helps ensure all operations follow safe food handling standards while maintaining a safe and clean kitchen environment. Create a customer service focused work place for all students, staff and the public.   

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assumes management of the cafeteria in manager’s absence.
2. Responsible for overseeing breakfast preparation and that production sheets are maintained for breakfast meals.
3. Help manager ensure work is completed correctly and efficiently by campus child nutrition team members.

5. Assist manager maintain all serving schedules and serves all food items according to menu specifications defined by departmental policies and procedures.

POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE:   Responsible for on-site leadership of campus child nutrition operations behind school Cafeteria Manager.  Helps ensure that appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served.  Meet time constraints set by menu requirements established by Central Office administration and Cafeteria Manager.  Helps ensure all operations follow safe food handling standards while maintaining a safe and clean kitchen environment. Create a customer service focused work place for all students, staff and the public.   

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assumes management of the cafeteria in manager’s absence.
2. Responsible for overseeing breakfast preparation and that production sheets are maintained for breakfast meals.
3. Help manager ensure work is completed correctly and efficiently by campus child nutrition team members.
4. Responsible for upkeep of site recipe books.
5. Assist manager maintain all serving schedules and serves all food items according to menu specifications defined by departmental policies and procedures.
6. Assist manager ensure that food is produced safely and is of high quality according to policies, procedures, and department requirements.  Store and handle food items and supply safely following health and safety codes and regulations.
7. Assist manager in enforcement of standards of cleanliness, health, and safety.
8. Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety standards, and follow established procedures to meet high standards of cleanliness, health, and safety.
9. Assists manager in correcting unsafe conditions in the work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to the cafeteria manager.
10. Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities in managers absence.
11. Assist manager in maintaining a clean and organized food and material storage areas.
12. Conduct regular physical equipment and supplies inventory.
13. Assist manager in maintaining a positive work environment where all team members provide great customer service for students, staff and the public.
14. Complete annual continuing education requirements. 
15. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
16. Responsible for all professional development as assigned.

AWARE Project Manager

POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE: The East Central AWARE Project Manager is responsible for overall project implementation and management of finances, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation of the project. The Project Manager acts as a liaison between ECISD and project partners, including SAMHSA administrators, Communities in Schools, and other stakeholders. This position will report to the Coordinator of Social & Emotional Development.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 
1. Oversees, ensures, and trains in the provision of project services to students. Supports data-driven decision-making, intervening and problem solving with project core team as necessary.
2. Ensures effective and strategic implementation to achieve AWARE goals and objectives. 
3. Conducts monthly reviews to ensure accountability of activities and accurate, timely reporting.
4. Oversee technical, operational, financial, and managerial aspects of project activities, including reporting, financial transactions, execution of project plans, and performance.
5. Helps complete a comprehensive needs assessment of the target geographic catchment areas.
6. Helps develop an implementation plan for a school-based mental health intervention system based on a three-tiered public health model.
7. Participates in an advisory board for the project. 
8. Supports the development of a sustainability plan for the project in coordination with ECISD leadership. 
9. Establishes collaborative relationships with other key community stakeholders. 
10. Collects, tracks, manages, and provides required ECISD data to CIS-SA and the Evaluator.
11. Contributes qualitative and quantitative information to inform all reports, including quarterly, annual and end-of-project progress reports.

The Instructional Coach’s primary role is to work with teachers to support best practices in using data, provide analysis of school-wide trends in instruction, and make recommendations about potential next steps to address areas of need.  Specifically, they will focus on early literacy to increase teacher knowledge and implementation of evidence-based practices to positively impact student literacy achievement. 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to establish realistic and measurable objectives related to both the teacher’s individual professional development and student learning. 
2. Support the continuous professional growth and improvement of teacher instructional skills through coaching and collaborative problem solving. 
3. Attend and support the implementation of Texas Reading Academies in classrooms.
4. Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and coaching to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation. Demonstrate teaching strategies with students in the classroom.
5. Plan and provide appropriate staff development for teachers, administrators, and staff.
6. Work with teachers to analyze and interpret student data and use findings to develop and apply instructional strategies.
7. Develop curricular support materials as needed.
8. Disseminate information regarding current research and significant developments on the state and national levels in the area assigned.
9. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
10. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
11. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

13. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
14. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
15. Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
16. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
17. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

11. Assist in setting up facilities for regular and special events and move furniture or equipment within the building as directed by supervisor, principal, or designee.
12. Assume responsibility for opening the building each school day. Check daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during hours of building occupancy. 
13. Ensure that procedures for unlocking gates, exterior doors, and safeguarding facilities are followed to include disarming the alarm system.
14. Monitor cafeterias during breakfast and lunch times.
15. Address needs as they arise on campus and respond to campus administration.
16. Manage campus marquee sign changes per campus need
17. Inspect and ensure that facilities, including classrooms, buildings, and gates are secure.

11. Keep school buildings and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas, neat and clean.
12. Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash and recycling.
13. Make minor building repairs as needed and report major repair needs to the supervisor and/or complete work orders.
14. Follow all ECISD Energy Conservation procedures. 
15. Assist in setting up facilities for regular and special events and move furniture or equipment within the building as directed by supervisor, principal, or designee. 
16. Assume responsibility for opening and closing the building each school day. Check daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during hours of building occupancy. 
17. Ensure that procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities are followed to include arming/disarming the alarm system.

 23.  Facilitate curriculum planning for AVID elective classes with other AVID teachers. 
 24.  Assist with and submit AVID campus data collection. 
 25.  Coordinate recruitment and selection of new AVID students. 
 26.  Attend AVID training, when available. 
 27.  Attend monthly AVID coordinators meetings and AVID Core Planning Team meetings. 
 28.  Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.

1. Monitor all vehicular and pedestrian traffic on campuses.
2. Monitor parking areas and take action on vehicles illegally parked.
3. Report any violations and file reports with the District Police Department.

5. Establish a Student Mentoring program.
6. Monitor school grounds and property for any destruction or vandalism.
7. Lock and unlock gates throughout the day as needed.
8. Maintain a highly visible profile in and around campus throughout the day.
9. Assist with emergency removal of students from campus to residence
10. Maintain close working relationships with campus administrators.
11. Provide security for athletic, campus and district events.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Knowledge of Community Policing based on the C.O.P.S. model (US Dept of Justice)
General knowledge of criminal investigation, police report writing, and criminal laws
Training and ability to subdue offenders, including use of firearms and handcuffs
Bonded as required by Texas Education Code §37.081(h)
Ability to pass required physical, psychiatric, and drug tests
Ability to work well with youth and adults
